I’ve said this elsewhere so pardon me for saying it again.

What remains of the Republican Party is so fascinated by the Great White Whale, Limbaugh, they have lashed themselves to it and they are going down. I wonder if the wandering opportunist, Ishmael Pawlenty will go down with them. When Pawlenty writes his autobiography, the first line should read “Call me Tim”.

Fewer than 20% of those who attended CPAC bothered to take part in the straw poll. From a source who actually attended, I’m led to believe that it was possible for those who wanted to vote to do so more than once. Spin it how you like, the reality is that the poll itself didn’t amount to much more than a bit of mild entertainment for a fraction of those who attended the conference.
