Cryptozoologists are embracing the internet as they continue to search for what may, or may not, be out there. Now the movement has brought a 30 year-old sighting of a classic serpentine water-beast in Lake Superior back into the spotlight.

Doug Moe of Madison’s Capital Times has the story as well as the requisite grainy photos from Randy Braun, 55, of Middleton, Wisconsin who spotted the creature while hiking near Lake Superior’s shore in the Upper Peninsula’s Porcupine Mountains in 1977. The monstrous beast, estimated at 75′ in length, has been named “Pressie” after the Presque Isle River which is close to where Braun was at the time of the sighting.

An interview with Braun is available on said internet here. Hat tip to Midwest Lakes Policy Center.
