Norm Coleman’s campaign sent e-mails to donors today about the campaign contributor database posted at Wikileaks.org. The message, sent “out of an abundance of caution,” encourages concerned contributors to cancel their credit cards, but offers no apology for exposing donor details including full credit card numbers, accompanying three-digit security codes and home addresses.
Full Coleman E-mail after the jump.

You gotta love old Norm. He screws up big time and then blames it on everyone but himself. The only reason why Wikileaks sent that e-mail was because Norm hadn’t done anything about warning the cardholders.

What an incompetent fool. So he posts the CC info on an open website with no protection or security and then blames hackers? How did he manage as a US Senator with this lack of understanding as to how the world runs?

Easy out, Karl Rove style. Rove and his advisees have already pulled plenty of that class of low-life moves; it helps clinch a crooked ones’ seat in a tight race. The pattern is established well enuf by now, I think.
It could just as easily have been made to be the back door to the Coleman campaign HQ, or leaving thas campaign RV van unlocked with the keys in the ignition out on the street in plain view night after night after night, yessirree, Bob. Victim gets sympathy and dollars to back it. But a city cop might well and readily spot a gaping back door or the van keys out-of-place – a Web site is MUCH easier to “help” the “RIGHT” people to look like THEY broke in and kerfluffled her sans outside interference from HONEST FOLK.
Same trick, only in cyberspace/gear, I think. Just make it wobbly, allow the MASSIVE FAIL, then blame the Mean Bad Demonoid Leftist Commonist Opposition for the fail, no matter who actually dunnit. Gets the “Teardrop Vote” every time. What’s REALITY got to do with it? (got to do within?) Ain’t Reality just a quaint old-fashioned notion to a desperate man?
Muppet Electoral Cybernetics. K. Rove, Chief IT Consultant. That’s what I think. I think Coleman Himself is just not that clever. Franken, from what I remember of him on the satellite radio and Web podcasts is just too bright and honest to authorize such a thing. (Some call it “integrity”; denigrated wiothin the USDC Beltway although much-mouthed-over on occaion.)
I, for one, pray Heaven and thus do reliably hope that Mr. Franken (should the recount indeed pan out for him) STAYS that way and does not “Pull a Coleman” himself, somewhere on down the big-money big-temptation line. We have all had enuf of that already.

Coleman is being jerked around by Republicans who really don’t give a rats pitooti if he comes out of this alive or dead politically. They just want to keep Senator Franken from voting as long as possible and are willing to spend the last of their money on lawyers? to see how far they can stretch it!
