Man gets by ban on state House credentials for online media
Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 5:30 pm
A ban on credentials for online media to cover the Minnesota House of Representatives was lifted Monday, at least for one state Capitol newshound: Internet and radio reporter Marty Owings. The persistent volunteer journalist for KFAI-FM and Radio Free Nation apparently wore down resistance among DFL House leaders and was awarded a floor pass Monday. Owings celebrates by welcoming to his 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Radio Free Nation show (streaming online) a leader from each party: Rep. Erin Murphy (DFL), who is assistant majority leader, and Republican Rep. Dan Severson, who serves as minority whip.
