Bachmann will not be running for president

Rep. Michele Bachmann did a 30-minute stint on the C-SPAN program “Washington Journal” yesterday. She largely avoided any bouts of complete lunacy. At the close of the show, a 61-year-old woman from Georgia called in to offer praise for Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District representative:
“Michele Bachmann, I have been watching you on the House floor,” the caller began. “I have been hanging on every word that you say. I want to give you my utmost, heartfelt appreciation for you being a courageous woman and a patriotic American. I want you to keep up the good work, because I’m gonna have my eye on you if you should ever run for an executive office, and God bless you.”
Bachmann, however, denied any dreams of executive power. “I have no intention of running for higher office,” she said. “I want you to know that.” (This Fox News profile, by contrast, suggests Bachmann may have her eye on a run for governor or the Senate.)
You can watch the entire show here. Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison appeared immediately after Bachmann.

I look forward with great anticipation to the day when Michele Bachmann decides to make a run for the Senate or Governor. Does she really think she’d carry the entire state of Minnesota? She’s happily ensconced in a highly gerrymandered district that tends to overlook her looniness and accept her far right-wing stances. I’d LOVE to see her in a debate with someone who has a firm hold on reality.

Today, bachmann told hannity she was “reporting from behind enemy lines”. She was in DC. This woman is a nutcase. A right-wing neo-con freak! Someone needs to get her out of that seat she occupies, and send her to a mental institution.

Bachmann has given her district and the folks who elected her a nationwide reputation. They are perceived as a collective laughingstock, the biggest crop of retards concentrated into a single area that ever drew breath.
