The absolute only thing that will save the Republican party is if it gets back to its conservative Ronald Reagan roots. If it starts to once again stand for these core principles – strong national defense and very limited government – then and only then will it stand a chance of surviving. When Republicans reach across the aisle and try to appeal to everyone, then they no longer stand for anything and people can’t discern them from Democrats.

I can’t wait to see Palin run. She wouldn’t get far pulling the same stunt in multiple debates that she did in her one with Biden. She’d implode if she actually had to compete nationally and it would be a satisfying sight to behold.

They keep pushing Pawlenty because he’s conservaitve enough to be acceptable to the conservative base, and he comes across as friendly and moderate in demeanor on TV, which is all the national media knows about him. This shouldn’t be surprising. What Arizona media said about McCain was different than the national media, and I couldn’t tell the national media ever picked up on that. They’re being fooled about Pawlenty the same way as many Minnesotans who support Pawlenty because he seems nice on TV and radio. Though politically active Democrats have discovered Governor Traffic Jam’s allergic response to compromise and practicality, this is not common knowledge.

The mccain has spent his whole life hopping from one girl to the next–his words. He picked palin for her gender to grab Hillary supporters. THat never works. He forgot to make sure she was qualified. Buyers remorse is right!

Hey Sandy: Mccain is still in the senate, blathering his nonsense, after putting his stamp of approval not only on palin–the stupidest person alive, but also on racism, hypocrisy, lies, and deliberate fear-mongering. They both remain a problem and “everyone should care” until they are both out of office.

For the love of God, I don’t know why they keep pushing Pawlenty other than they think he’s young, looks pretty on TV and has a knee-jerk reaction to anything about taxes. He has nothing else going for him.
