If you would look at Indiana State Seal, there is a man chopping down a tree, and a Bison leaping to the left. I thought the humor was that the Pawnee, Indiana seal was tongue-in-cheek directed to Indiana by showing a "felled forest" and a "dead bison." I don't see any Minnesota connection at all.... other than most state seals are round.
