Romney to suspend campaign

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who trails by a significant margin in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, will suspend his campaign, according to multiple media reports.

Romney was a well-funded candidate, but failed to catch fire. He was assailed by social conservatives for changing his positions on abortion rights and civil rights for homosexuals, and struggled to earn support from evangelical voters suspicious of Romney’s Mormonism.

Romney’s withdrawal largely clears the way for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., to win the GOP endorsement. McCain’s remaining serious challenger, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, trails badly in delegates.

Romney won Minnesota on Tuesday, defeating McCain, who was supported by Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

GOOD NEWS ! Romney Boys Available to battle violent, radical Jihad GOOD NEWS !

Troops can be taken from the political battleground to actually confront “the threat of violent, radical Jihad.”

Romney announced “And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.”

Remember last August, Romney said “The good news is that we have a volunteer Army and that’s the way we’re going to keep it.”

He added: “One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping me get elected because they think I’d be a great president.”

Maybe they can meet John McCain’s son who is currently SERVING in Iraq.

Reading his speech , there should be no doubt why this guy never caught on … pushing extremist issues may appeal to Conservative Political Action Committee, but not to ordinary citizens.

Romney may have invested $35-50 million in his campaign, but he will quickly start getting paid again … is there any doubt that he will follow Pat Buchanan’s path and become a paid television commentator until the next election season.
