Bachmann fears ‘politically correct re-education camps for young people’
Monday, April 06, 2009 at 10:06 am
U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann says she fears the Obama administration will create “re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums.” Audio after the jump.
Here’s what Bachmann said on Minnesota radio station KTLK-AM (podcast) this weekend (in reference to The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, a proposed expansion of the AmeriCorps program that Obama may sign into law this week):
It’s under the guise of — quote — volunteerism. But it’s not volunteers at all. It’s paying people to do work on behalf of government. …
I believe that there is a very strong chance that we will see that young people will be put into mandatory service. And the real concerns is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums.
Here’s a five-minute audio highlight reel, beginning with host Sue Jeffers encouraging Bachmann to run against U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar:
Here’s the full 18-minute program:
(h/t DumpBachmann)
FactCheck.org debunks this line of thinking on the national service bill (h/t Salon’s War Room).
Related: A Minnesota Independent investigation reveals today that Minnesotans in Bachmann’s district face the worst effects of the foreclosure crisis — but she’s doing the least about it. Bachmann calls homeowners “irresponsible” while advancing legislation to restrict abortion, make the U.S. government more Christian, and fend off mythical assaults on the dollar.

When will this fool stop talking and actually read some bills. She’s actually being paid by American taxpayers to spout this nonsense. Someone vote her out already. I feel sorry for the Minnesotans who voted this whackjob into office and then voted again to keep her there. This is your conservative mentality at it’s best.

Is it just me or is there a noticeable increase in mass killings being reported after she first started this crap? In my opinion Bauchman may need to go see a doctor and get some help. She is beyond paranoid and her being an elected official and having some kind of power is not safe for the well being of Americans.

The conservative GOP’ers only got attention when they said something controversial. Now with Obama as President and being an articulate person they are getting less attention and must result to even crazier comments to remain in the media. Rush, Hannity etc are prime examples. I say let her talk, it reminds us of just how long they will be out of power.

CAUGHT BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA
In order to gain the political control they’ve enjoyed over the last ten years, Republican moderates and Reagan conservatives made a pact with the devil (faux Christians, bigots and misanthropes) to achieve the numbers they needed to defeat Democrats. They made a strategic decision to manipulate and exploit the ignorance, fears and hatreds of dysfunctional and vulnerable voters in order to win elections rather than lose them by being intellectually and morally honest.
Today, those who conspired with the devil are caught between wanting to disassociate themselves with and or casting out the devil they empowered and the karmic reality that they don’t have the numbers to hold on to or regain power without continuing to accept and “advocate” the immoral values, hypocrisies and corruptions that are dividing and destroying their party.
The survival of today’s shrinking Republican Party has become so dependent on extremism that they have no significant power left WITH or WITHOUT the support of America’s increasingly pernicious lunatic fringe.
The idiom “caught between the devil and the deep blue sea” is certainly appropriate as Republicans are facing the dilemma of choosing between two equally undesirable alternatives that both result in Republican impotence in mainstream American politics. They are suffering the consequences of their treachery.
Their irresponsible propping up of George W. Bush cost them their credibility, and their disgraceful and shameless licking of Rush Limbaugh’s storm trooper boots is costing them their viability.

FIGHTING FOR SURVIVAL WHILE FACILITATING EXTINCTION
While some Democrats are of the opinion that President Obama is being TOO bipartisan in his accommodations to Republicans and are disappointed he isn’t playing hardball with them, I believe that his highly visible efforts to include Republicans in the policy making process is serving to illuminate REPUBLICAN OBSTRUCTIONISM and increasing the likelihood that the 2010 elections will result in a filibuster-proof Democratic Senate majority.
I believe that if it ultimately becomes necessary for Democrats to go it alone and institute policy changes with zero Republican support, the vast majority of Americans will see their actions as necessary and justified because Republicans have been deliberately trying to undermine President Obama’s efforts to fix the problems that eight years of failed Republican leadership created for Americans and America.
In addition, the self-promoting and purposefully flamboyant and offensive histrionics of radical Republican provocateurs, insulters and fabricators like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Michele Malkin, Mary Matalin, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, John Boehner, Michael Steele and Eric Cantor are ALL increasingly alienating younger and working class white, black, Hispanic, female and financially disadvantaged Americans at a time when the core of the Republican Party have progressively devolved into an ignominious and impotent angry minority. Not only do today’s most vocal and visible Republicans lack a majority audience, they are literally eviscerating one another as they fight to be the biggest fish in an increasingly small pond.

Minnesota, you need to ask yourselves if this woman REALLY represents you. If she does, then I really have to question your sanity, as should you. She is on shaky mental ground, and if you think she represents you, then you must be as well.
I suspect, however, that there is an issue with your press, there, that is not telling you what this woman is up to, or what she says. I suspect that you are not hearing what your congress people are doing in YOUR name, or that you are not paying attention at the very least. Wake up and get rid of this woman, and put someone in place that actually does some good instead of makes stupid arguments so she can shoot them down. She is NOT doing you people any good, any more than Norm Coleman is by keeping your state from getting any representation at all. What is wrong with your congress people, anyway? Get rid of them and put someone in there who has a clue, you might find that it actually benefits you as well as helps the country.

I looked over the legislation of both HR 1388 and HR 1444. Neither of these 2 bills contain language that mentions re-educate. These bills provide rewards for volunteerism. The word recruit is throughout the 2 bills. It seems people just post the names of these bills and think we are to stupid to read them and expose their lies.
I challenge anyone here to prove the legislation contains the language that Bachmann accusing Obama of trying to do…re-educate our youth

If you go to opencongress.org, people are overwhelmingly against this bill. Michelle Bachmann is not crazy, she IS representing people. She is representing people who are concerned with the ever-reaching power of the federal government. Why are there more than 2 dozen states seeking sovereignty? Why are there tea parties being planned all over the country? People are sick of politicians taking, taking, taking our money and not representing the wishes of the people.

To the person who said Bachman needs to get some help, get this: her husband is a therapist! He’s one of those whack jobs who believes therapy can “cure” people of being gay. He’s whacked, she’s whacked, and they live in my home town. I’m disgusted by her representation. The rest of the country is looking at MN like we’re uneducated idiots because of her. Really, her being elected is just the result of conservatives following party lines or pro-lifers voting on one issue alone, and because of the way her district is drawn, she’s got a lot of conservatives in it. Sickening. People should educate themselves before they vote.

Rodeo,
The bill does not need to be specific. The intelligent people in this country know the power that politicians can grab with pseudo/subtle laws. Let’s face it….the power-grabbing has just begun!
It was blatantly apparent that this presidency/congress wanted to redistribute wealth. Only the poorly educated, or lost souls, or (those involved on this massive crime on the american public) would say otherwise. What was the whole point of the stimulus? Why not support small business owners who actually provide jobs? Why build up a civilian army (which is what hr 1388 is doing) other than for the buildup of one huge governmental army? One that will brainwash our children……….to support their liberal (socialist or fascist) agendas? And protect their messiah-istic leaders?
I don’t know about you all….but i am so tired of having my gun rights potentially taken away, my right to free speech, my right to carry cash onto a plane without being abused, my right to blog without being raided by the local police,my right to smoke cigarettes and not support every little poor child without healthcare (eat it) and my internet taken. Wake up, people, you thought President Bush was a tyrant, wait until you see our country in 4 years. Oh, i guess in two years. The Messiah will have no power over Congress in 2. I would wager to guess that is why he is moving so fast…

The pattern I’ve noticed is Republicans overreact while falsely accusing Democrats of doing something that they aren’t doing, or if so it is very minor. They will hammer away at making accusations until the public becomes apathetic. The next time Republicans are in power, they do that very thing they accused the Democrats of quite boldly and it right out in the open. The media doesn’t seem to notice. What will Republicans do the next time they are in power? Listen up, Rep. Michele Bachmann is telling you.

sovereignjohn, “can’t be denied”? It can if you actually did read the bills, which means you could not have. HR1388 expands the existing americorps from 75k to 250k, participants. whoo hoo. There are 16 million children in high school in the u.s. at any given time. If the program got full participation that would be 1.5% of students. Yeah, that sounds mandatory all right.
HR1444 forms a commission to talk about expanding programs like americorps and what the logistics would be of making volunteering mandatory. The whole reason we have commissions to discuss programs is so the people have a chance to put in their input. If we were a dictatorship as your paranoia seems to be telling you, there wouldn’t be any commissions openly discussing things. So, if you care, write to the members of the commission. Suggestion though, try not to sound like you are writing from under your tinfoil hat and your letter might actually be treated as meaningful input. Countries like Germany have this sort of program, so if you wanted to actually research how 100% participation affects, whatever, you could start there. I get the funny sense you are not the information and researching type, however.

This all out assault on Bachmann needs to stop. The GIVE Act is unconstitutional. It is a remnant of the C.C.C. (Civilian Conservation Corps) created in the 1930′s and a youth camp created by one of our most hated dictators in WWII. Some of the stated goals are the program are a re-education on matters related to the constitution and military history. The objective is to create a corps of apolitical patriotic youth, available at the disposal of the federal government in times of national emergency and to execute the directives of various federal government agencies.

As a resident of Minnesota living in one of the other seven congressional districts that isn’t represented by Bachmann, I’d just like to thank all of you who took the time to lambaste all Minnesotans and hold them responsible for Michele Bachmann’s election to Congress. In like fashion, I hold each of you responsible for the election and re-election of George W. Bush. There was no excuse for electing him the first time, but really, how could you have been so stupid as to let him get re-elected? What’s the matter with you?!!!
By the way, Minnesota has consistently voted for Democrats in presidential elections longer than any other state in the union. All you residents of Nixon, Reagan, Bush supporting states should hang your heads in shame. Or just get a grip and stop blaming all of Minnesota for what barely more than 50% of the voters in one congressional district did.

p.s. insulting the intelligence of any person who disagree with you only strengthens the resolve of your adversaries. Supporters of obama are not idiotic sycophants, and on the flip side, those who fear the loss of their freedom are not wingnuts or rightwing extremists. It’s not a republican or democratic party issue. It would appear to many as a debate on civil liberties and the role of the federal government.
Why not have an open debate on the topic?

The GIVE Act and the implementation of universal compulsory national service is really just an extension of the government’s grip over the minds of our country’s youth:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/03/07/MNJDVF0F1.DTL
Take this ruling by the California courts:
“California courts have held that … parents do not have a constitutional right to homeschool their children,” Justice H. Walter Croskey said in the 3-0 ruling issued on Feb. 28. Parents can be criminally prosecuted for failing to comply, Croskey said.
“A primary purpose of the educational system is to train school children in good citizenship, patriotism and loyalty to the state and the nation as a means of protecting the public welfare,” the judge wrote, quoting from a 1961 case on a similar issue.

MN must have statewide flouridated water, or SOMETHING. With very few exceptions the posts on here speak volumes of the willful ignorance of the citizens of that state.
Look, folks, thinking that re-education camps and the like can’t happen here ensures that they will. This is the government we’re talking about. When certain people tried to tell the American public that we operated in Cambodia during the Vietnam War, the government denied it and people like you believed them hook, line and sinker, and now it’s common public knowledge. When certain people spoke of the existence of the Green Berets, the government denied it, and people like you believed their official stories, and now it’s common public knowledge. When certain people tried to tell the public of a secret police and Hitler’s conspiratorial, dictatorial and tyrannical aspirations, the government denied it, people like you believed it, and now…well.
So what are you going to do? Keep believing everything the government tells you, or question them once in a while?
I already know the answer, and so does every True American Patriot in this nation. The vast majority of you will continue to be worried about sports, big screen TVs, your “carbon footprint”, and your paychecks to open your minds, even for a moment, to the possibility that the U.S. government is far beyond corrupt, and is working, actively and dilligently, to control you, your children, your grandchildren, and on, and on, and on. You’ll do nothing, like the majority of colonists did during the founding of this country.
It’s easy to throw out convenient labels and phrases, like “wingnut”, or “tin-foil-hat crowd”. It gives you a smile and a sense of accomplishment and superiority over people and ideas you don’t understand and, more to the point, don’t want to understand. But there will come a day, very soon, when you’ll look around you and suddenly, very clearly, you’ll see it. All of it. And your heart will break. Because by then, it’ll be too late. Not only for you, and not only for your children or grandchildren. But for all of us.
And all because you, did nothing.

Infinite LOLs at “The Rev”. The people commenting here aren’t expressing the idea that “the government is always right”, they are quite justifiably mocking a woman who frequently has insane ideas and offers little evidence to back them up. If you have actual evidence that the government is planning mass reeducation facilities, please enlighten us. Until then, we can heartily scoff, on the basis that any such organization, in order to be successful, would have to be operated on a scale large enough to be known by the public, which would loudly rebel against such an institution. Furthermore, “the government” would not benefit from this, as the government does not have an ideology…political parties do, and one party rarely occupies the seat of governance for very long. Look, conspiracies happen, but not conspiracies that are so retarded on face value that no rational actor, even an evil one, would attempt to engage in them.
More on topic, I find it amusing that a woman, who less than 6 months ago was advocating McCarthy-style loyalty investigations into Democratic members of congress, is now concerned that the government might be seeking ideological brainwashing.

I AM PROUD TO HAVE VOTED FOR MICHELE BACHMANN, AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE WHO IS NOT AFRAID TO DEFEND THE RIGHT TO LIFE AS BEING MORE IMPORTANT THAN ECONOMIC WELL-BEING.
‘LIFE’ IS OUR GOD GIVEN AND CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT.
“The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government.”
Thomas Jefferson
AS A BELIEVER, WHEN I STAND BEFORE GOD TO BE JUDGED, I WILL NOT HAVE TO BE ASHAMED OF HAVING BEEN PRO-LIFE FIRST. AND I WILL BE ABLE TO LOOK AT ALL THE MILLIONS OF REJECTED AND ABORTED CHILDREN AND TELL THEM THAT I PRAYED FOR HEARTS TO CHANGE AND VOTED FOR THOSE WHO WANTED TO SPARE THEIR LIVES.
OF COURSE, THE “CHOICE” IS YOURS, BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
REMEMBER – GOD’S NAME IS MERCY. THERE’S STILL TIME TO “CHOOSE” THE CULTURE OF LIFE OVER THE CULTURE OF DEATH. “REPENT AND BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL OF LIFE.” Reject the politicians that promote the killing of innocent, defenseless children. As the sign held by a 12 year old in front of our local abortion clinic states, “Would you want to be Aborted?”
GOD BLESS MICHELE BACHMANN.

Of all the many comments here, this is the most insightful and salient, and exactly nails the republican/wacko pattern of behavior we are seeing today. They start with something made up or wildly exaggerated, like a world currency, gun bans, Fairness Doctrine, re-ed camps, the Amero and the 100-lane NAU highway (that one’s a real corker), Sharia law, imminent tyranny and slavery, $5B stimulus money for ACORN (another corker), the Road To Las Vegas (not a Hope-Crosby movie), the “Muslim” Obama, the birth certificate, the personal army from Palestine, Marxism, Socialism, Fascism, and on and on and on and *on*. Then they burst into vein-popping outrage over the made-up offense and send incendiary e-mails rocketing back and forth, round and round the wingnut echo chamber. Then media wackos like Hannity, Malkin, etc. (you know the list) explode with bile and rage at the ruination of America, all due to liberals.
And *they* accused *us* of “bush Derangement Syndrome”! At least the stuff we objected to was actually true. We really *did* invade Iraq for no reason, bush really *did* spy on Americans illegally, cheney really *did* out a CIA agent for petty vengeance. We didn’t need to make up crap about birth certificates or Ameros.

It teaches the youth how to actually be employed in the real world because AmeriCorps is a stepping stone in their lives, it leads to learning how to be employed or to furthering their education with their education awards.

I simply don’t understand how this woman got elected, and how the rest of her colleagues don’t stand up and call her on this kind of irresponsible, completely untrue garbage. She is now inciting violence in American society. We now have irrefutable evidence that this kind of fantasy was a major motive in the outright paranoid murder of the police officers in Binghampton, NY. She must be told to shut the fuck up.

Whether that is…um… “naz” …I’ll leave to others to decide.

Bachmann is nothing but a Ann Coulter wannabe. It’s a sad day when the hate-mongers of this country are falling all over themselves trying to see who can stoop the lowest so as to get the highest ratings from the low-brow knuckle-draggers in their right-wing audience. When they look back on what they did with their lives in old age I hope they feel utter shame.
By the way we already have re-education camps that try to re-mold people into a right-wing way of thinking, it’s called boot camp. Betcha don’t have any problem with THAT though do ya Bachmann.

All any of your brainwashed liberals have to do is go and look up the pdf of “The Civilian Inmate Labor Program” and all of you will eat your words. LBJ,Nixon,Ford,Carter, Reagan,Bush,Clinton, Bush and Obama every president since JFK has been a puppet to the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank. It does not matter if it is a Republican or Democrat in office they have no power they do what they are told or they end up like JFK, with a bullet in their head. JFK was murdered because he signed Executive Order #11110 which would of abolished the FED from printing our money. Only Congress has the power to print money and the private bankers hijacked our country in 1913, also the IRS is their extortionist creation to steal your hard earned money off the labor off our backs. Thus “WE the People” have been turned into wage slaves for the enrichment of the very same bankers who bank rolled Hitler,Lenin,Stalin,Mao and Pol Pot; all of whom are the biggest mass murders in the history of the world. The false left/right paradigm must be destroyed and all Americans need to wake the hell up, both parties are bought and paid for to divide and conquer the people by compartentalizing us into our little belief systems, but the truth is never told to us and when you do find out the truth your called a crazy conspiracy nut. If a Democrat is in office they call you a right-wing extremist, if a Republican is in office your called a fanatical left-winger. When are all of you gonna pull your heads out of your backside’s?

If Michell Bachmann’s and her followers such a freaking patriots, what’s their beef with people volunteering to live on a small stipend (think Fed min. wage-ish) in exchange for HELPING THEIR COUNTRY? Or is it only patriotic when your idea of service includes carrying a gun into battle?
Myself, I’m going to be working with US teenagers, helping them to build skills that I hope will help them throughout their lives (communications, meeting deadlines and how to interact with people on a professional level). I realize I probably won’t get shot at in the line of duty, but does that make my contribution to my country worth less?

On the one side, you have Russ Feingold; on the other, you have Miss-hell Batshitcrazymann, both duly elected to office. Both are fine examples of representative government: Wisco by progressive, intelligent congressman; Minnescrotum by snake-wielding, tongue-speaking, meth-eyed madwoman.

just to clarify; I’m an individualist.. right and left can both suck it IMO. That being said, I’ll buy that bridge in Brooklyn ‘m3th0d’ (did i get the leet speak right?). There are many facets to the global agenda here.. codex alimentarius, youth brigades, new reserve currencies, NAFTA.. the bottom line is, there will be a day when you are begging for work, rather than unionizing. Capitalism breeds unhealthy class wars (or bipartisan wars, as evidenced by the intelligent crowd here), as well as a swathe of lying and misrepresentation to justify the profit margin of whatever crap you are selling. Now I realize I’ll get flamed for being a socialist.. but let me repeat: IM AN INDIVIDUALIST. I believe in things such as (gasp!) personal responsibility, and raising children with villages rather than letting the public system do it for me. Thats the heart of this issue, educating our children through the government. If you dont understand the danger of this, you don’t deserve to call yourself an American. But hey, I’m sure you’ll find a scapegoat between now and globalisation to blame if your family gets caught up in resisting the ‘re-education’. Welfare should be as hard to get as a paycheck, plain and simple. We should let the govt as it is fail, not give it more power over our future. Obama was right, we need change, unfortunately, we will need to create it by resisting ANY efforts to let this BS system into our children’s minds.

Hi my name is Takara Spaulding and I served in AmeriCorps for two years. I would just like to say that it is so very crucial that you get your facts straight.
1. AmeriCorps workers work in Nonprofits that are not government ran, but that sometime are contracted by governement becuase they are unable to provide the services with the same quality.
2. In todays economy college graduates are going into a workforce with limited amount of jobs. Therefore, it would make sense to spend your time recieving paid training. Unfortunately, not all of us are able to volunteer and wish upon a star that are bills such as rent, phone, etc. can be paid.
3. AmeriCorps is not like a camp it is more so like an internship or a fellowship. During my monthly trainings there was very little talk about America. Instead there was training about resume writing, conflict-resolution, service learning, and workplace professionalism.
I am sure that before you made this statement you did not take the time to actually talk to someone in AmeriCorps. I am a first generation college student who is now also a first generation Graduate student and that would not have been possible without the education stipend I recieved at the end of my service. In addition, I now work for a charter high school that would not be able to afford a school counselor if I was not here. The two years I served as an AmeriCorps worker prepared me to be the Lead College & Career Access Coordinator that I am today.

@Takara: You are a great example of the problem here. You are so indebted to the program, and the fact that they ‘gave you a start’, that you are looking past the factors that created your background. Bipartisan politics, and capitalism, are to blame for the majority of the ‘average american woes’. I’m not saying I have the solution, but having the ability to question our govt and their roles in our lives, and therefore start an INTELLIGENT debate surrounding alternatives to the bloated, anti-trust-like monster that we call capitalism is crucial to any great society. This comment thread, and the story that sparked it, shows that that is nearly impossible without being labeled and libeled. It’s nice to see that you’ve ‘made something of yourself’, but arent you the least bit angry that you are the ‘first generation’ to do that? dont you think your distant ancestors would be too? The debate isn’t even happening yet, and THATS the problem. Most Oligarchal takeovers of Republics start very innocently, ask anyone who initially supported such ‘great’ leaders as Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini.. they all promised the world to get their backers, then they turned off the charm and turned on the ruthlessness, JUST AS OBAMA HAS DONE IN ONE MONTH! Watch the video I posted above, and then we can talk more; if you really are the patriot you imply, everything I have said should only stimulate your curiosity, not cause any kind of ill will toward me or my philosphy. Just sayin….

Since my last post, It has come to light that there is a takeover attempt for the internet under the guise of “cyber-terrorism’ from China, etc. So, when you’re internet connections go down state-wide, no that martial law is under way. I care not to educate those who have helped us into this mess, I am merely offering words of caution to those who actually care about things other than the bipartisan illusion and finger-wagging. Yet, this woman is given the opportunity to let it all hang out, which she botches so perfectly for the conspirators. This indicates that she is a plant, and that this is a scripted saga.

Plus she supports a bunch of bills that would allow oil exploration in the U.S. I’m sure you liberals would hate that because you would rather pay more and rip up some other peoples land than use our own resources.
It’s funny how all you guys just attack anything that disagrees with your corrupt media or your idea of how you think we all should live.

After 8 years of having the right wing call you Crazy and Insane for pointing out the crimes and excesses of the Bush administration, now you call them the same for having the exact same concerns about government! They built the DHS the biggest police apparatus in American history. Do you think that getting Obama in office changes Anything about that? He has less power than them!

PS, fearmongering is spreading fear for control and profit…when youre warning people about substantial threats to liberty, youre defending freedom. Granted, these politicos work both sides and that’s despicable. But that’s the left and the right. They are correct to guard against government and they are in the wrong when they defend government encroachment.

Glorious Socialist Revolution Comrades!
While we are at it let us change the national anthem from that unenlightened imperialist rag to the L’Internationale… Socialism Comrades; Fight for Socialism!! Obama, Reid, and Pelosi Liberal Collectivist Statists plain and simple. President Obama’s mentors, Barack Senior, Frank Davis, his Grandmother, Bill Ayers – It all reads like the who’s who of Marxists in America. And the man who will deliver it all, the Intrepid Rahm Emanuel. Rahm is a man whose ambition is like a little motor that knows no rest(nod to Lowell Thomas). The man is second only to President Obama in being the pol’s pol. These guys may be the most capable social revolutionaries since Lenin and Mao. And they will do it all without firing a shot! They are truely amazing men! (Remember the words of JFK: “Those who make change impossible, make it inevitable…”) Now comrades, where do I report for political reeducation? Oops, sorry the sisters of Saint joseph have already brainwashed me in grade school!

Of course, there is no (fnord) re-education. This is a country of freedom (fnord). If you hear of anyone talking negatively about the president or Obamacare, you can send an anonymous email to the government at “fishy” at Whitehouse dot gov. It’s the AMERICAN thing to do (http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Facts-Are-Stubborn-Things/). You should snitch on your neighbors. They probably make more money than you, anyway. With any luck, you’ll get to keep 10% of their stuff (or at least despoil their daughters while they’re in prison).
Obama was right when he told all non-liberals to “sit down and shut up” (STFU, for those reading on a cell phone). It’s only fair… He said as much to the Democrats, to, because in the same speech, he said that he didn’t want to hear anything from those who were responsible for the economic crisis. That would clearly limit most Democrats from speaking. Coupled with the fact that the unions are bussing in “crowd control” — and picking fights with citizens who show up actually thinking they’ll get a chance to speak — I think that the Democrats will get the message sooner than the Republicans, and fall in line. Republicans… they’re an odd lot… part socialist, part oligarchist… I think that’s fascist, but I’m not sure any more… I’ll call them whatever Obama wants me to call them this week.
I can only hope that the Democrats drink to koolaid quickly, and turn the government over fully to Obama. Otherwise, they’re going to have to do that “Krystal Nacht” thing, and a lot of innocent people will be hurt along with the Democrats he plans to sabotaging.
If we can only all get behind him and learn the “sirg hile” or whatever it is that he wants us to say, we can save a lot of time, trouble, and lives. Of course, most of those lives will be spent in abject slavery, but hey, better red than dead, right?
I, for one, plan on giving up my freedom, my cash, my rights, and my a-hole if I have to. I’m ready to roll-over and offer up the prize, ‘cuz this is the end, of the innocence. Hell, I don’t care if they want to pass “single payor” and put all private insurance out of business. I don’t care that health care will be as hard to get as tax breaks (er, if you’re rich or famous, “no problem”. if you’re ordinary, “no chance”). I don’t care that rationing will probably mean that most of my older relatives will die without any medical care, because it wouldn’t be coswt-effective to treat them (end of life is so close… what’s a few more years going to matter if you can’t produce for the State?). I just don’t care. I’ll get my crust of bread and maybe be allowed to live one more day. I’ll turn in my neighbors, because, after all, after the SS leaves with the suspects, I’ll have a couple of hours to raid the remains and hoard anything not nailed down. And if I get caught, I’ll roll over on another neighbor, or a co-worker. You know, the one w/ the fading “Freedom is not free” bumper-sticker.
Hell, I was born to survve.

What outraged people outside Minnesota should remember is that gerrymandering districts across the nation has made safe seats for both Democrats and the most loony of Republicans alike. Ask yourself why your Congressperson has held his or her seat for decades.
The result is politicians who are not responsive to the nation’s needs, and widespread political corruption. Not to mention Minnesota’s two millstones, Michell Bachman and Governor Tim Pawlenty, the latter of which has done more damage to the State of Minnesota than the loony former.
Prior to Mr. Pawlenty’s reign, Minnesota was noted for the high quality education it provided. Pawlenty deeply slashed education funds soon after he was elected, and fought teachers and administrators. Now Minnesota is rated in the middle of the pack in education.

Why should they create re-education camps? They are doing a fine job of turning public schools in re-education camps on the sly.
Congresswoman Bachmann is doing a fine job of sticking it to you liberals who think you have a right to every desire paid for out of my paycheck so kudos to her.
Leftists are not mad because Bachmann lies; liberals are mad because Bachmann speaks unalloyed truth. Liberals thought they could get away with destroying our republic unopposed. Instead they find themselves opposed and frustrated at every turn. GOOD. I DON’T OWE YOU HEALTHCARE, NOR A HOUSE, NOR AN EQUAL SHARE IN THE ECONOMY.

I find most of the comments made about Michele Bachmann on this site amazing. I notice that none of you “liberals” have made any reference to the “hymns to Obama” that young children in various public schools across the country have been forced to sing. Perhaps you are ignorant of them because you are adverse to watching any news network that exposes any truth that might damage the image of Obama. I suggest that you go to YouTube or Breitbart TV on the web, watch the eleven videos for yourself and then ask yourself whether Michele Bachmann’s comments are “insane”. Don’t you have any problem with innocent children singing songs of praise of Obama in our public schools, or does the color of his skin give him special privileges? Can you imagine the outcry from the mainstream news that would have taken place had public school children been singing the praises of G.W. Bush during his administration?
P.S. Quite calling G.W. Bush a “conservative”; he spent money (including domestic spending) like a drunken sailor; Obama is spending like a ship full of drunken sailors.

It is comforting to a southerner to know that at least one congressional district in Minnesota has the good sense and patriotism to send someone like Michele Bachmann to
Congress!
We must keep the good people we have now, and send more good ones like Michele to Washington in 2010 and 2012, if we are to have any hope of halting and reversing the damage Obama and his underlings are doing to our America.

THE ENEMIES OF OUR COUNTRY HATE MICHELE BACMANN BECAUSE SHE IS NOT ONLY BRIGHT, ARTICULATE AND BEAUTIFUL–SHE IS EASY TO LISTEN TO. SHE HAS GREAT INTELLECT, GREAT LOOKS AND GREAT
PRESENTATION. HER SPEAKING ABILITY IS ARGUABLY BETTER THAN
THE JOSEPH STALIN CLONE IN THE WHITE HOUSE. THAT IS WHY THEY ATTACK HER–AD HOMINEM–BECAUSE ALL THAT SHE SAYS MAKES SENSE
THOSE WHO CALL HER NAMES SHOULD PRINT THEIR NAMES ON THEIR POSTS. THIS THEY WILL NOT DO BECAUSE TO DO SO WILL EXPOSE THEM AS HAVING NOTHING INTELLIGENT TO SAY IN OPPOSITION TO WHAT SHE IS SAYING.
I WILL FOLLOW YOU MICHELE.[aka Joan of Arc]
GOD BLESS YOU.
