According to David Brauer, a mysterious listing indicates that the local snark monthly The Rake may be up for sale. Asking price? Less than $400,000.
Minnesota Monitor is sad to be unable to put up the purchase price, especially after this flattering article that claims we are the fourth most frequently mentioned online news site among local media folk. With number three being…The Rake!

Not so flattering “after only eleven weeks, MinnPost has an audience larger than those of the other local news sites mentioned here (a claim corroborated by the rankings in the information below).”

a year and a half and we think we’re doing fine with a much smaller budget. Especially thanks to loyal daily readers like yourself.

Where is Paul Schmelzer? (comment not related to current article) I miss him! Have always followed his media coverage and commentary. Hope he’s still around and will be posting again soon.
