Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., will endorse Barack Obama in his bid for the White House, according to published reports.
Dodd ran unsuccessfully for president this year, but withdrew from the running after failing to gain traction in Iowa. On the campaign trail he garnered significant political capital from the Netroots and civil liberties groups for his approach to issues like net neutrality, habeas corpus restoration and illegal warrantless wiretapping.
In addition to pointing at least some of his supporters in Obama’s direction, Dodd is yet another superdelegate jumping on Obama’s wagon heading into the March 4 primaries in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island and Vermont.
