Campaign ads: McCain’s new web spot compares him to Churchill, TR

I don’t get it I realize that this little break we’re having is a great time for McCain to re-introduce himself – define who he is on his own terms.  But this ad is just plain weird.  How many voters are going to have a visceral connection with Churchill or TR?  If it was Reagan or Goldwater, I’d have given him a pass and said “whatever”, but I really don’t get this one.

Besides, there are better Churchill quotes to use.  My fave is “The only traditions of the Royal Navy are rum, sodomy and the lash.”  Oh, wait, McCain was in the Navy …. nevermind …

(Besides, Churchill’s assistant was probably the source.  Sad, that.)

501(c)(3)?!?!??! Posting McCain commercials?  Isn’t that the same as an endorsement?  I think the IRS would be very interested in this!!! /Masterofnone

Koyanniqatsi? The self-love is nothing surprising from McCain – but man the visuals are kinda trippy aren’t they.  It’s like some kind of mashup of the History Channel, Koyanniqatsi, and the end of 2001 A Space Odyssey.
