McCain visits doc, campaign will release medical records “in a month or so”

“[John] McCain is occasionally asked on the campaign trail about his age,” wrote reporter/physician Lawrence Altman in the Sunday NYT. “But he is almost never asked about his health.” Altman broached one aspect of the McCain medical dossier with his long backgrounder on the Stage II melanoma for which McCain underwent extensive surgery in August 2000.
As for McCain’s medications: “The campaign also said Mr. McCain regularly took Vytorin to lower his cholesterol, a baby aspirin to help prevent heart attacks, a multivitamin and, occasionally, Claritin or Flonase for allergies.”
Yesterday McCain went to the doctor, reports the WashPost blog The Trail, and campaign flak Jill Hazelbaker subsequently said, “He is perfectly fine and we’ll do the full health release in a month or so.”

Why the Hold Up? He goes to the doctor a lot, so he could have released them on time. He always released them immediately in previous campaigns. All he had to do was say the word and it all would have been taken care of for him, and they would have been released on time. Faster, easier, and better than fielding questions about it and casting doubt about his health.
