Ferraro: If Obama was white he “wouldn’t be in this position”

A historic woman in politics and a member of Hillary Clinton’s finance committee, 1984 VP candidate Geraldine Ferraro blames a sexist media for the former first lady’s campaign struggles, and tells both Fox’s John Gibson and Daily Breeze staff writer Jim Farber that Barack Obama’s race is the key factor in his appeal.
“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” she told Farber. “And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”
Here’s what she had to say to Gibson, who asked her if she’s “playing the race card”:
