I want to say that I am totally sympathetic to the abolition of the noxious Federal Reserve! It has gotta go. In fact, money has gotta go. Humanity did quite well without money, or private ownership of property, for many hundreds of thousands of years. We accomplished amazing things, too. We built the Pyramids without a monetary system, just one example. The rascally Lydians invented money, and only about 2,600 years ago. An eyeblink in the history of humanity. If humanity wants to move forward, and in a humane way, money has got to go!

No money! No banks! Freedom now!

BetsyRoss, I upped the crowd estimate in the post. I had estimated 100 in the plaza before the march, then downgraded it to 75 as the crowd spread out some during the parade. Probably not everyone was walking, and I accept that the plaza was a better place to count than along the march route.

Matthew and Jordan, thanks for taking the time to talk.

I am also an End the Fed supporter and member. I am an American citizen who values the beauty of the true foundation of this nation. It grieves me to see the changes I've witnessed in my lifetime and to watch our freedom to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness slipping away before our eyes. Our American Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our liberty are at stake while the masses sleep. Yet in all honesty we, as a people, have not really understood, appreciated, or protected the gifts that were given to us. I am to blame. We are to blame. We, the people, are a big part of the problem and need to be a big part of the solution. I am so encouraged by the activists in End the Fed, MN We Are Change, and others who take the responsibilities of citizenship seriously.

Why are Americans sleeping? It's part of the plan. We play into the hands of the powers that be if we are ignorant of history and our Constitution and rights, overly content in comfort zones, overly busy with 'life as usual,' mesmerized by media and entertainment, refuse to research matters because we don't like being labeled, believe the rumors about 'conspiracy theorists' (which basically means responsible citizen)apathetically believe life will go on as usual, indifferent, overindulgent, and imagine the 'other guy' will fix the problem. Its you and me...the people...who can potentially make a differenc.

Meanwhile we are kept too busy trying to run on the "fast lane' wheel of keeping up with an economy, lifestyle, and standards that are dictated by the Federal Reserve, banking cartels, high corporate, media, and governmental powers that run this show. We are too busy (by design) to have much time left over to keep on top of matters related to our diminishing liberties...unless we choose to do it exhausted. Better to do it exhausted than not at all.

Jordan is right. The politicians don't have time to read all the fine print amidst the bombardment of dangerous legislation that gets pushed through. Many of our politicians are of good will and character and want to represent us. Yet, how many letters do we write to our congressmen, after doing our own research on matters of concern. Do we moan and groan in the break room only, or do we take our concerns to the people with influence that can make a difference?

It is true that the government is injecting themselves (backed by lobbyists with personal interests) even into our right to grow and choose the food we eat. HR 875 is one of the current legislations that have potential to dangerously impact small and organic farmers, farmer's markets, community gardens, small livestock farms, etc. Excessive and disproportional regulation on food production facilities can drive such portions of society into the ground and hammer the free market to dust. Check it out and contact your politician. I appreciate MN Representative Eric Paulson for taking to heart my letter and others for he is representing HR875 concerned citizens, as well as standing for people's rights regarding the Fed. It serves no productive purpose to 'blame' our government. We must blame ourselves for being so ignorant, apathetic, and uninvolved. Ignorance is bliss until the bomb drops. The masses are like Pavlov's dogs, running for the rations, behavioral control subjects who are studied and modified according to the desires of those who control them.

I want to address a tragedy. Understanding of the Constitition and Bill of Rights has been reduced to a test children take in middle school. We are not encouraged to understand or appreciate the true privilege and responsibility of citizenship. Whereas we should be encouraged to deeply understand and take our rights to heart from early youth, rather than take them for granted. The public educational system is also largely influenced/funded by government, which is highly influenced and controlled by the Federal Reserve and affiliated organizations. The Fed is a private central bank and we were forewarned by the founding fathers to never allow a central bank to enter the picture. You would be amazed to read all the quotes of the founding fathers and also many subsequent presidents and key people who saw the writing on the wall.

We don't understand citizenship or what it will take to treasure and protect the liberty that was granted us. We 'think' we are citizens. However, we have been content to be US residents rather than US Citizens. A citizen is one who is knowledgable, informed, responsible, and intent to uphold a commitment to their country. If we had been trained to be true citizens our country would not be going in the negative direction we are going. Instead we have been desensitized by the powers that push the buttons. People have been sleeping, more and more over the generations, while freedoms slip away, first slowly and now rapidly.

We are apathetic and overly comfortable in our ignorant bliss. We listen to mainstream media where the real story is not told or is altered to keep us from knowing the truth, rather than seeking out information and verifying our sources. Fortunately there is still some freedom of speech (although we are being watched for what we say) out there and if you take the time to research some of the sites mentioned by Jordan you will learn enough to make your blood boil. We have no excuse because libraries and the internet are full of valuable and critical information. Also, check out HAARP, Cern, chem trails, mind control, martial law, new world order, 9/11 truth, etc. The list goes on and internet research will lead to many discoveries that help sleeping people wake up.

We think foolishly that life will just go on as usual. It will not and the changes coming will wake up the masses to a painful reality. As Jordan says, we are on the treshhold of collapse, disaster, unrest, martial law, and our slavery will become evident. Check out Chris Martenson's Crash Course on Economics and see how this economy and government will inevitably go down. It makes it easy to see how the control of our economy by the Fed and affiliated groups has had devious intent and a planned outcome....but it wasn't the plan of the American people who will be swallowed in the black hole when everything implodes.

We are ignorant of our own history and the careful design with checks and balances within our constitutional foundation and we didn’t know or heed WARNINGS delivered by the founders this nation...who stated that we should never allow a central bank like the Federal Reserve. Check out how Woodrow Wilson felt and what he said in dismay after implementing the Federal Reserve. We are ignorant of the history of other nations that preceeded us into the realm of socialism, slavery, civil unrest, martial law, war, and decline. History may seem boring, but it tells the truth and offers lessons.

We cannot afford to be mesmerized into apathy, ignorant, or uninvolved. We cannot afford to rely on the government to fix all our problems. If they fix us then they will own us. They, via the Federal Reserve, are ‘fixing/bailing out’ those banks and corporations that have failed. Hey..If that was you or me we would be suffering the consequences for our failures rather than getting bailed out so we could pay big bonuses to our wealthy executives! Unequal scales and balances was never part of this country’s design. If we look to the government to fix our problems they will own us, just as they discretely have come to own vast amounts of land which they control, and just as they will be able to claim ownership of the organizations they are bailing out .....setting the stage for one world government and new world order. Many among the masses are sleeping slaves and we have to do what we can to equip ourselves, for perhaps we can wake up more people. For ultimately ‘we the people’ have the power of change. I personally feel we would do best to reunite as one nation under God, to the best of our ability. We need the help and blessing of God to survive the tragic scenario that is ahead of us.

Once we finally reach bottom (within the next 2 years or possibly longer), the responsible homeowners & middle class families who are living within their means & fortunate enough to still have a job and income to pay their mortgage will begin to make difficult choices after finally seeing the reality that they have been robbed blind, effectively having the fruits of the last 10 years or better of their working lives literally erased from ever taking place.

I'm sure we all have been trimming here, cutting back there & reducing expenses & spending wherever we can. It's almost like saving some money makes us feel somewhat smarter. Maybe that efficiency is only achievable & occurs because we are held to a much higher standard of accountability. We are granted the privilege to enjoy the consequences of taking risk. If you are not able to make your car or house payment (through no fault of your own or not) your credit worthiness is blemished, your car/house is repossessed/foreclosed & you are still liable for any and all amounts the bank finds still outstanding after they sell the car/house. Obtaining a new car or home loan will also be that much more difficult down the road, not impossible but you can be sure that the interest rate the banks offer you will be a lot higher, as you are seen to hold more risk to lend to.

I wonder if there will be any similar lasting residual consequence felt by any of the failing institutions who have already or will soon receive multiple billions in bailout money or if our elected representatives will consider holding them to a higher standard of accountability or consequence to improve their efficiency?

The potential consequence that our society & political system face is when the majority of responsible homeowners realize that the rate of recovery in home values will take years if not decades to get right side up again, more & more will weigh the consequences with the same immoral philosophy that our elected government employs by propping up failed institutions with our tax dollars which in any court of law would be viewed as criminal.
