I’m not amused, I’m afraid. Calling out Michele Bachmann needs to advance from the comment sections on lefty blogs into the mainstream media. This woman has gone beyond “very conservative” to a post-ideological form of weirdness that is no longer funny or quirky, it’s dangerous.

She is allowed to get away with what she says because of a misplaced belief in the power of manners. Rep. Bachmann’s lies and rantings are outside the rules of etiquette. When are other elected officials going to drop the pretense of Minnesota Nice? When are they going to confront her with her spewings and stand up for the truth? Until they do, we can expect more of the same.

Oh my word! I put this person on the same plain as Ron Carey – very narrow minded, up-tight, ideological zealots that practice the same type of separatisim that our forefathers left England to escape. It is embarassing to see both of these persons extremist comments in the media. It is my opinion, that the republican party is dying a painful death due to comments and antiquated attitudes such as these two and our governor seems to be cut of the same cloth, only more subtle in his discrimination.
