RNC picks Nash again as executive producer

The Republican National Convention has named David J. Nash as its executive producer. Nash has produced the last four Republican conventions and is one of the highest paid consultants for the RNC — or the highest paid of any of the two parties’ conventions for that matter.
At the convention in New York City in 2004, Nash was paid at least $769,135 (through June 2004), at the San Diego convention in 2000 he was paid a total of $3.5 million, and in Philadelphia in 1996 he got $1.1 million, according to the Center for Public Integrity.
In November, the Democratic National Convention selected Ricky Kirshner as executive producer. Like Nash, Kirshner has produced the last four conventions but he received less than a tenth of the payment. For the convention in Boston in 2004, Kirshner received payment of only $41,713 and in 2000 in Los Angeles, he received $110,720.
Nash received more individual payments from the RNC in each year than the top earner at the DNC. The lesson? It pays to consult for the Republicans.
