State Finance Board Dismisses Frivolous GOP Complaint Against Rep. Dittrich

About a month ago MDE unleashed another baseless attack on a State Representative just to garner some more undeserved attention.  This time the victim was State Representative Denise Dittrich (HD 47A) from Champlain.  Some of you may remember MDE’s claim (and this juvenile video) that Dittrich failed to disclose a conflict of interest and some may remember our strong rebuttal insisting on Dittrich’s innocence.  Well, guess who was right?

READ the whole story below the fold

DittrichYep, we were.  The State of Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board issued their decision on the complaint filed against Dittrich by Reps Kurt Zellers and Tom Emmer today and the conclusions couldn’t be any clearer.  From the “evidentiary findings” section:

  1. The evidence before the board supports a finding that at the time Representative Dittrich filed her Statements of Economic Interest with the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board, she did not own any interest in real estate located at 333 Washington Ave. North, Minneapolis, MN.
  2. There is no evidence before the Board that Representative Dittrich has ever owned any interest in real estate located at 328 4th Street North, Minneapolis, MN.
  3. There is no evidence before the Board that Representative Dittrich has ever owned any interest in the limited partnership known as Duddy, LLP.

Can’t get much more definitive than that.

Rep. Dittrich proved herself to be a very ethical member of the legislature when she filed a conflict of interest that removed her from the stadium vote, a vote that she stood to gain much on.  And for MDE to bring forth these ridiculous allegations is irresponsible, but for MDE to continuously harp (he posted on the matter no less than 13 times, many after my initial refutation) on these baseless allegations was reprehensible.  I sincerely hope that MDE will act in a more responsible fashion in the future but I’m not holding out any hope…
