Strib, MPR recognized for investigative mettle

The Star Tribune got edged out by tough competition in the just-announced 2007 IRE (Investigative Reporters & Editors, Inc.) Awards. Earning a finalist slot, the paper’s Paul McEnroe, Tony Kennedy, Laurie Blake, Pat Doyle, Dan Browning and Mike Kaszuba were recognized for their reporting on the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the causes of the 35-W collapse and whether it could’ve been prevented.
