amy-youtubeThe sole U.S. senator for Minnesota has managed to make some Supreme Court-nominee shortlists — despite having a Republican in the governor’s mansion who’d appoint her replacement. But Slate didn’t include Amy Klobuchar in its vetting-by-video of would-be high-court jurists.

That’s too bad. YouTube’s fourth-most viewed A-Klo clip (helpfully titled “Amy Klobuchar — Did She Really Say That?”) seems like it might have been a worthy addition to Slate’s roundup of mostly non-gotchas.

It features a remark Klobuchar made on the campaign trail that’s roughly relevant to the U.S. Supreme Court’s case about a school that forced an adolescent girl to strip to her underwear. And there’s no need to guess what President Obama would say about it — he’s in the video too.

KLOBUCHAR: I worked at the A&W root beer stand as a car hop. I wore a T-shirt that said: “Take home a jug of fun” …

OBAMA: … Amy reflects that decency, despite that T-shirt she told me she was wearing. Do you still have that T-shirt? [To her husband] John, you’ve seen her in that T-shirt?
