Minnesota Family Council, I am very angry with you. I have asked you several times to not call me anymore and today I got yet another call from 408-651-8121. Today it's about this anti-bullying bill which I support 100% and will now actively support against you.

I am a 57 year old man who was bullied many times when I was growing up. I am not disabled or gay. I didn't get along with other kids, but I didn't deserve what was done to me and I sure as hell will not stand by and let others suffer as I did. I don't care who or what they are. An animal does not deserve abuse, and neither does any human being.

The call played a recorded message and then allowed me to press 1 and you forwarded me to the Minnesota Governor's office, where I told them in no uncertain terms about what you are doing and that I DID SUPPORT the bill.

If you are so full of fear that your god cannot comfort you, please consider getting professional help. Fill your empty heart with love and there will be no room for fear. Idiots!

I went to the same large high school as Geordie Griffiths, and I can second his experience--bullying was considered a normal part of the culture. When Columbine happened, my first gut-wrenching reaction was that could have been our school. Post-Columbine, I'm sure there are new anti-bullying systems in place, but Safe Schools will streamline the standards statewide. It's a great step forward for our kids.

When I was in school it was against the rules to bully anybody. From what I've heard the rules are even more strict today as far as the consequences. I don't see why this law needs to be taking up space in our already huge state statutes.

I can't believe anyone would appose this bill on the basis that gays (or, let's face it, perceived gays) don't deserve protection in schools. It's just a sick mindset.

How to identify people who weren't bullied: they say stupid things like "everyone gets bullied".

How to identify future conservative talk radio hosts: they're the bullies.

“We can stop bullying of all students without promoting homosexual marriage and unhealthy homosexual behavior.”

Yeah, and besides if they can't bully the physically and mentally disabled, who are the alpha males gonna bully. They must retain the right to make fun of the wusses. Baby steps people baby steps.

I am being sarcastic of course. It's just so difficult for me to take these Family Council yahoos seriously.
