Bremer/Lewis postscript: Drew Emmer warned us about people like Drew Emmer

Blue man in a Red district points out that right-wing blogger Drew Emmer (Wright County Republican, Minnesota Majority) posted an item last fall bitterly condemning the use of harassment and intimidation to suppress opponents’ views in political tussles. “In case anyone has forgotten,” Emmer wrote, “Intimidation is against the law. Harassment is against the law. Trespassing is against the law. Defamation is against the law. Bombing a mailbox is against the law. Stealing is against the law. Attempting to restrict a person’s right to express their political views is a violation of the U.S. Constitution.”

It seems apparent this Drew Emmer needs to give a piece of his mind to that other Drew Emmer — the guy who last week took the unusual step of setting up an online letter-generator to condemn the actions of a private citizen engaged in political speech, Karl Bremer — including Bremer’s photo and, initially, his home address and home/work phone numbers. [Cached screen grab.]

“Consistently Inconsistent” or, “that was then; this is now.”

I wonder if Drew will ‘fess up, or just ignore this one?

Correction Thanks for asking me directly about this before all the hubbub.  Unfortunately, I did not write the post Blue Man submitted, and you refer to in your gracious diatribe.

If you had checked the original post at MNMajority you would know that.  Perhaps there was some technical issue with account settings with The True North post showing me as the author.  I asked.  They corrected it and apologized.

If Karl Bremer is to be considered a private citizen then so should I, right?  Do you agree?

Anytime you have a question just drop me a note.  You know where to find me.

Thanks for thinking of me.

All best,  Drew

Drew Emmer’s Role “the guy who last week took the unusual step of setting up an online letter-generator to condemn the actions of a private citizen engaged in political speech”

This wasn’t Drew Emmer, this was Jeff Davis from Minnesota Majority.  Though Drew Emmer is or was the Communications Director for MN Majority.

Drew Emmer posted a copy of the MN Majority alert to Look True North – and that’s what the cached screen grab is.  Later on Look True North, Jeff Davis posted a story about the Forest Lake School situation, and posted links to letter generators to the high school principal and to Karl Bremer.

So Drew, are you denying posting the item to Look True North that was pulled?

So who did it? Who posted your private info Drew?  Comparing your situation, in which it would appear to many of us to be compeltely hypocritical based on the “Stillwater Infidel” days, no one posted your private info.  I never posted your address, email or phone number.

I called you on on a post at True North under the surname “Drew Emmer”.  If that is not you…

Are there 2 “Drew Emmer’s” at True North?  The action alert posted at True North under that username is strikingly similar to the alert posted at the site in which you are the Communications Director.  It’s not a stretch of the imagination to think that the Communications Director of Minnesota Majority would put action alerts up.

So, who posted using “Drew Emmer”.  If you produce who the original author is, I will gladly retract my posts and aoplogize.  The evidence indicates it was “Drew Emmer”.
