A bill to allow patients with debilitating, intractable pain to legally possess marijuana, having already passed the Minnesota Senate, is set for a vote in the House. Gov. Tim Pawlenty is threatening a veto of the bill, and advocates of medical marijuana targeted Pawlenty in a series of ads featuring patients who have found relief from their conditions only through marijuana.

The first ad in the series, released by Minnesotans for Compassionate Care, features Lynn Rubenstein Nicholson, who suffers severe back pain after falling through a floor. Ten back surgeries later, she still has severe, chronic pain that she uses marijuana to relieve.
