Freedom Lover,

I am glad even though you're gay that you have enough common sense not to have gay bumper stickers.

Free Speech? No, it's called not drawing attention to one's self if you're indeed worried about being "bashed." The car rental industry stopped the practice of applying car rental agency stickers to their fleets so that unwanted attention would not be drawn toward "tourists" who may be targeted. It's called common sense. If I were gay, I certainly would choose to not advertise that fact, much like I don't feel the need to advertise that I am straight. Did I say pass legislation to ban any kind of gay bumper stickers? No. Your choice. Go for it. If it attracts the wrong kind of attention, however, will you point to the lack of conceal and carry reciprocity, or the fact you choose to advertise your "gayness?" I'm all for 1st and 2nd Amendment rights being infringed upon in any way. I'm stating that I do not agree with special gun rights for a certain segment of the populous. What is so hard to comprehend about that? That, and a little common sense goes a long way in this world.

So, no free speech for gays and lesbians, "Freedom Lover"? Seems to me you're suggesting someone's asking to be "bashed" if they exercise their first amendment rights with a car sticker. Am I reading your stance correctly?

Wouldn't one of the easiest things to do to prevent "bashing" be to not put stickers on one's car that declare yourself gay for the world to take notice? This article was not clear- would EVERYONE have reciprocity, or just gay people? If it's the latter, forget it. No special gun laws for special groups. THAT could open one helluva can of worms. If it's for everyone- go for it!

It'll be interesting to see who takes what sides in this for sure. Should make for some good political theater on both sides.
