Sign Wars: The Outstate Edition
Monday, September 25, 2006 at 12:19 pm
A couple of heated races in the Willmar area have GOPers ahead in the yard sign wars. An entirely unscientific drive along a couple main roads in Kandiyohi County has DFL Senate Majority Leader Dean Johnson behind nearly 4-to-1 to Joe Gimse, his Republican challenger.
Most of the lawns and fields dotted with Gimse’s signs had his name alone. Only two lawns added Tim Pawlenty for Governor or Mark Kennedy for Senate signs.
In the District 13B race, incumbent DFLer Al Juhnke is being challenged by Republican Bonnie Wilhelm. She was also winning the sign race by a significant margin.
The entirely unscientific numbers in Senate District 13 were Gimse 19 to Johnson 6. The also entirely unscientific numbers in House District 13B were Wilhelm 9 to Juhnke 2.
