University of Minnesota sporting events will now be dry affairs. The university’s Board of Regents passed a prohibition on booze at this morning’s meeting. There were two dissenting votes.
The university originally wanted to limit alcohol sales at its new football stadium to luxury seating such as suites. But the legislature passed a law mandating equal access to booze. Rather than acquiesce, the Board of Regents opted instead for an outright ban.

More backwards thinking regarding alcohol. Now the kids will binge drink before AND after the game. I’m not a drinker, so I could care less. But bans never work for ANY issue.

No Big Ten teams serve alcohol to the general seating. Ohio St and Michigan are 100% dry too. All the other Big Ten teams serve alcohol to premium seating. Why are lawmakers making silly laws like this? Don’t they have more important issues to do?
