I think that the court is waiting until Tuesday to order pawpy-t to certify Franken. Since the U.S. Supreme Court goes into summer recess on Monday they won't be around after Tuesday to agree to hear the case and the pawp will have less legitimate looking options in disobeying the court's order.

There are probably third world countries that have better election systems then Minnesota. There is a related post at http://iamsoannoyed.com/?p=1952

Does the Mn Supreme Court ever issue a ruling immediately upon completion, rather than announcing a batch of decisions for the week on Thursdays?

I admit to substantial impatience to see their decision.

This should not have gone to court in the first place. What a waste of time and money. I am sure the folks of Minn. ran a good election and the results and recount should have been the end of it. In these hard times, it is a sin that the GOP is wasting so much of their money. Sad for the folks in Minn. not be represented in a very important Congress.

Maybe, but there's another theory -- not sure if I buy it -- that it's taking so long so the court can make a legally iron-clad decision that allows no wiggle room for Pawlenty re: signing the election certificate.

It's a hung jury. They won't issue a final ruling. This is not going to be a well thought out opinion. It will be a punt. They will abdicate their oblication.
