Some lefty activists are seeking to recruit a primary opponent for U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum, mainly because they’re upset that she hasn’t signed on as a co-sponsor of legislation that would establish a universal, single-payer health-insurance system. Next week Twin Cities residents will get a chance to let Rep. McCollum know how they feel about her stance on health-care reform. She’ll be hosting a forum on the issue Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Highland Park Picnic Pavilion.
It’s part of a broader push by Democrats to build support for President Obama’s health-care initiative across the country. Rep. Keith Ellison will be hosting a similar event on Wednesday in Minneapolis.

Get the word out to your friends and neighbors to attend this. We have few opportunities to demonstrate our support of the public option and if thousands attend this maybe the point will be made. I am not in her district but I will be there, and I will bring 4 with me.

Check this out Rep McCollum. Thousands of Progressives DFLers support Single Payer Healthcare. I hope Rep McCollum comes around soon. The Health Insurance Companies might be in Twin Cities, and they might make lots of Campaign contributions but there are MORE of us.
