Count me as an American who would drop private health care for a public option in a heartbeat.

This fall, Death Cross knocked me off of a medication I had been taking for 18 months with very good results for a different medication that could be gotten generic. Within a month the new medication was making me miserable with absolutely awful side effects. My doctor and I begged and plead for me to be put on the previous med – no dice. Now I’m recovering, but I still don’t know if the changed med did any long-term damage, and it triggered panic attacks that are still with me. There is nothing that justifies the gambles that the health insurance mafia takes with patients’ health in the name of scraping out a little extra profit (in my case, all of $60 a month!).

To me, the most interesting fact is going to be the “guaranteed issue” part of the plan. GI has been nothing but a failure (example being NJ,NY,Maine), and if that is coming nationally, well then Houston we might have a problem.

all i can say is a govt run health care without private options, is like the post office without UPS or Federal Express. Everybody better get a Snickers.
