klobucharYesterday the Washtington Post’s Chris Cillizza wrote a post highlighting the apparent dearth of female politicians eyeing presidential runs. In response, readers threw out numerous names of potential presidential contestants: Kirsten Gillibrand, Kathleen Sebelius and Michelle Obama, among others. But the female pol that was most frequently cited as a prospective future White House occupant? U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar. “Klobuchar is young enough — 49 — and ambitious enough to make a bid,” writes Cillizza.

Ever since I saw her gracious, hilarious appearance at a Washington press dinner, I’ve been saying “There’s our next President.” And I live in Florida!

I made that prediction sometime last year, when I realized how popular she is and a natural politician. I won’t go so far as to say president, because if Obama does two terms, the odds will favor a Republican in 2016. However, I think she has the best shot at being the first major party female nominee, unless of course the Republicans pick just any nutcase in hopes of being first.

Ms. Klobuchar would be a wonderful candidate for President in 2016. Or it could be Michelle Obama with Amy as the VP.

What more could anyone wish for? We would then be able to really punish big business for cheating the consumers for the past 100+ years.

Go Amy, go!
