picture-6First DFLers “with direct knowledge of her plans” leaked news that state Sen. Tarryl Clark would run against Michele Bachmann for the 6th District U.S House seat. Then reporters noticed that Clark had filed her statement of candidacy in the race, which allows her to fundraise. Finally, as if acknowledging the information cart had ended up before the horse, Clark officially announced her bid on her website today with the words, “I want you to hear it from me.”

In a YouTube video and accompanying statement, Clark made her announcement, laying out key points of her platform and stating that she’ll abide by the results of the DFL endorsement process. Shot in Anoka, the video includes a jab at Bachmann, who Clark says has a track record of “creating controversy and generating talk-show ratings instead of getting positive results” for the district.

Wow, Anoka makes for a pretty ugly background for a youtube video.

Ms Clark would be a decent representative for Minnesota, although she is far too conservative.

Elwin will march with our President better than Tarryl will. She has too much of an independent streak in her.

And I have heard Ms. Clark debate Ms. Bachman before in a community forum. She was chewed up and spit out onto the ground. Not with her arguments, but rather with the verbiage and techniques MB used. If Tarryl goes to a debate class, then maybe she can improve her chances.
