R.T. Rybak is in the midst of a re-election race with 11 challengers who want to replace him as mayor of Minneapolis this fall. But Thursday found him in a St. Paul suburb, pledging — almost — to run for governor next year. “I’m very likely to enter this race,” Rybak said.

Here’s what Rybak told the Senate District 38 DFL Fourth Annual Family Picnic in Eagan (also known as the center of Minnesota’s political universe):

We’re going to have a Democratic governor. But let’s stop and think about what it’s going to take to really elect a Democratic governor in this state. I’m looking hard at entering this race, and I’m very likely to enter this race.

The unseasonably chilly weather in Minnesota couldn’t decide if it was summer or autumn Thursday, and Rybak and Gov. Tim Pawlenty couldn’t decide if they were running for higher office — or whether they were friends or enemies.

Pawlenty told national media tuned into his luncheon speech before the Republican National Committee that he doesn’t know if he’ll run for president in 2012. And while the two men issued a solemn joint press release about commemorating the collapse of the I-35W bridge, Rybak also sent out a separate statement attacking Pawlenty that was more characteristic of their rivalry.

“Gov Rybak”. That has a very nice ring to it.

“Former Gov T-Paw”. That only sounds good when the programs and assistance he has taken from me are restored, and I can see him in a jump suit owned by the State Correctional System. This man is the reason so many of us will soon lose our homes, food, transportation, and our health care.

And what did he do with the money? He gave it to his rich friends. They all sit back drinking their imported beer, smoking cigars, driving expensive foreign cars, and laughing at the little people as we are standing at the side of the road. I want to throw up.

Please Mr. Rybak, run and help get Minnesota back to what it once was, and should be. That is a user friendly state where we honor and cherish all citizens, not just the rich ones.

Yeah, and Obama was born in Kenya. You’re as crazed as the birthers.
