Mayor Coleman and other Clinton supporters will meet with Obama following rally

I just spoke with St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, who’s been making the rounds of the massive media encampment at the Xcel Center. Coleman has been a Hillary Clinton supporter, but is ready to switch allegiances to Barack Obama. “The primary season is over,” he says. “Sen. Obama is the nominee.”

Coleman spoke with many other Clinton supporters last night and believes they’re ready to unite around the presumptive Democratic nominee. “To a person, they’re ready to come on board,” he says.

Coleman and about 20 other Clinton supporters, including House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher and St. Paul Rep. Erin Murphy, will meet with Obama somewhere in the Xcel Center after the Illinois senator addresses the crowd.
