good piece. good to see comments from the intelligentsia(did I spell that right?) anyways my take on card check is that when it passes that we will still have to organize workers and that will entail a real, live organizing campaign. what big business and its legions of union-hating toadies are frighten of is the arbitration part of the act and the implications of arriving at a contract in a timely manner. so people can continue to spew about the secret ballot deal- but it is all smoke. I haven't heard secret ballot until 2008 when the folks cranked up those clever, confusing ads. so- we won't for the act to pass we are just going to continue organizing.

Damn straight the dems are as bad as the pubs. The sooner people figure this out, the faster we can rid ourselves of the corrupt powers that be in this country.

Special interests like profits. Profit margins don't like union labor. Senators like monetary contributions. Special interests like to provide monetary contributions.

Are we still surprised the dems are backing away from organized labor and looking to pad their coffers for re-election? Money talks.

The only problem is that old Horse Face Norm is no longer in the Senate. Mr Frankin and Ms Klobuchar are our Senators.

We need to hold them accountable on this. Both pledged in their campaigns to support the card check bill.

If these two do not follow through with their support, they are no better than any of the Republi-thugs. In fact, they are worse since they have my money from my donations.

Another triumph of GOP lies over fact. When you look at the sheer volume of money that Norm Coleman and anti-labor shills threw at this battle, it's not surprising that some members of Congress have backed down.

We have been dumped on again. One of these days, we are going to get smart and not believe these yahoos called Democrats.

Perhaps it is time for all of us to support the Socialist Worker's Party. At least they have the same values and we in the work force do.
