Clark swats Bachmann in first Daily Kos post

She’s vying to represent Minnesota’s most conservative district, so where does state Sen. Tarryl Clark go to discuss her candidacy? DailyKos. In a new column at the hugely popular liberal blog, Clark noted that she’s speaking at Netroots Nation, the progressive politics blog conference, later this week. She’s likely angling for the kind of fundraising from anti-Michele Bachmann forces that swelled fellow Democrat Elwyn Tinklenberg’s coffers at the end of the last congressional campaign.
For many liberals across the country, it’s likely their first introduction to Clark (when Tinklenberg bowed out of the race last week, Keith Olbermann’s show on MSNBC ran a “Best of Bachmann” montage, but failed to mention that Tinklenberg was stepping aside so Clark could run). And given Bachmann’s notoriety among Kos readers, she’s smart to take a few swipes at Bachmann — just as Tinklenberg did at the site in 2006. In her post, Clark mentions the Republican incumbent three times, including:
Minnesota’s 6th District needs a Representative in Congress who can deliver more than a soundbite. With Michele Bachmann in Congress, we’ve watched as opportunities to build our infrastructure, opportunities to grow jobs and support small businesses pass us by because our Congresswoman spends more time working the talk show circuit than standing up for working families.
She says she plans on discussing her campaign — and posting more at Daily Kos — during Netroots Nation, “because as much as everyone has enjoyed talking about Michele Bachmann, I’m looking forward to talking about something else come November, 2010.”
