Commerce and creativity will collide at any premier event, and the Republican National Convention is no exception. The simple cotton t-shirt, one of the most time-honored forms of political expression in the modern era, has already been employed to make statements of support, opposition and indifference to the Republican Party’s arrival in St. Paul. They can also make a few bucks for whoever is hawking the wares.
"The first batch is selling like hot cakes," says John Moravec, creator of an "I’m with stupid" t-shirt featuring presumed Republican nominee Sen. John McCain embracing President George W. Bush. "One shirt has apparently already been gifted to a health care lobbyist from Vermont, who also happens to be an RNC delegate."
While some of the baby doll tees, baseball jerseys, hoodies and tank tops are produced by the parties and others by lone capitalists, they are all fairly partisan. But be warned, the Republican Party will sue if the elephant, “GOP,” “Grand Old Party,” or “Republican National Committee” appears on them, so some creativity may be required.
"My shirt color is khaki," says Moravec, "which is used out of recognition and respect for McCain’s age. After all, the color has been in use by the British Army in India since 1848. I’m sure he remembers those days fondly."
The following slide show highlights some of the t-shirt offerings currently available.

The t-shirt with the elephants reads:
“An Indian elephant bathing pool, or the Reuplkan convention? You decide!”
I’m pretty sure its an elephant bathing pool. The misspelling is obviously a way to avoid being sued by the RNC. I bet this guy is a millionaire.

And, let me add that my t-shirts provide Democrats with a patriotic opportunity to stand side-by-side with Republicans to “commemorate”the 2008 RNC. What could be tackier than the giant elephants that now adorn the Excel Energy Center? John McCain and George Bush swooning each other, of course! My t-shirts are affixed with the retro-cool “I
