Rep. Michele Bachmann recently told a conservative news site that she plans to return to Washington, D.C., and join the Republican rebellion in demanding that off-shore drilling for oil that is 10 years removed from our supply chain begin posthaste. In an effort to paint House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi as out of touch and extreme on environmental issues, Bachmann revealed to OneNewsHour a comprehensive environmental policy based in the faith that Jesus has already saved the planet.
[Pelosi] is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she’s just trying to save the planet. We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago. They saved the planet — we didn’t need Nancy Pelosi to do that," says Bachmann.
"But she is committed to not allowing any drilling," the Republican lawmaker continues. "She, [Senate Majority Leader] Harry Reid, and also the Democrat [sic] presidential presumptive nominee Barack Obama are all committed to no new energy, whether it comes from natural gas, oil, or coal, or nuclear power."
There apparently is no sin of sloth when it comes to being a good steward of the Earth. Praise BP, Jesus has already done the heavy lifting for us.

I really hope the 6th district is happy with who they got, a loonie. And I am not saying this in a partisan way, she is completely nuts.

My question is: If the icecaps melt, should we build an ark?
Or does having “dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth,” et cetera, mean never having to say you're sorry?

I guess they let her off the short leash.
Those of us who are not Christians don't care to hear politicians making Christian religious comments. You know, separation of church and state and all that.
She is incorrect in that the Democrats are committed to no new energy. Notice how she didn't mention solar or wind. Wonder if she's heard of T. Boone Pickens.
Lastly, she made the usual right-wing misnomer of the Democratic Party. The party is the Democratic Party. The members are Democrats. There is no and has never been a Democrat party.

bachman is, as usual, a johnny-come-lately to nearly every cuase celebre. She is a simplistic thinker and those who voted for her ought to be hanging their heads low right about now.
