Rep. Tim Walz figured out a novel way to blunt outrage at town hall meetings on health care reform: the First Congressional District Democrat invited Republican Rep. John Kline of the adjacent Second District to join him. Since Kline has no town hall forums scheduled, it’s a perfect fit, right? Not for Kline: He declined.
In a letter to Kline (pdf), Walz outlined his plan: a shared forum in his district would be followed up by a later one in Kline’s district.
“Our constituents share a common bond,” Walz wrote. “Our districts are next to each other and we each have a large number of constituents who work and are treated at the Mayo clinic, the state’s largest private employer who last year lost $840 million because of our broken system.”
Kline’s not interested. In a reply letter (pdf), Kline bagged, saying he’d rather focus his constituents. The only problem is he has no public forum on health care reform scheduled.

Kline has health insurance, so there’s no problem to be addressed, no need for public input on health care reform. Or so it appears.

I’m surprised Kline bothered to reply.
On the other hand, his people did a pretty good job staging the event with phony public interaction the last time he had on of those meetings….

Why would Kline want to attend an event where he would be faced with the truth? He is a liar and a cheat.

From what I hear the Oil Industry, War Profiteers and Crony Capitalists can meet with Representative Kline any time they want… they just put the date, time and place on the memo line of the checks they send him. If the amount is large enough, he appears to take their orders.
