You people are looking at too narrow of a picture here. Sure there will be the occasional issue that needs to be addressed. But this is the another of the many success stories of the new President.

Mr. Obama has brought the financial markets back to life, breathed life again into the housing industry, and most recently into the auto industry. Next it will be home appliances, along with health care.

This is exactly the man we needed in this time of financial ruin for the United States. Bushco drove this country into the ground with his spending and not raising taxes.

Mr. Obama will lead us to prosperity and a sustainable univers. Thank you Mr. President.

Yes, I was really disappointed I couldn't trade my old gas guzzler for a new one.
More and more, I think "Cash for Clunkers" is a ruse set up to make people holler and scream and say, "Look. The govmint can't even administer this program, let alone health care." However, they sure got the money to their banker buddies quickly under the bailouts. Wag the dog.

@Anton While I'm sure the new truck has better mileage, what I don't understand is how they were under the impression (both the buyers and the dealer) that they'd be eligible for the full rebate.

The rules for the program were very clear as far I read them - isn't this a case of the dealer screwing up by writing a contract they couldn't satisfy?

I have absolutely no sympathy for anyone who uses this program to purchase a full-size truck. Boo hoo.
