The UpTake reports that a woman who recently challenged Democratic congressional candidate Steve Sarvi about oil drilling in Alaska is really a paid part of U.S. Rep. John Kline’s campaign — and that she didn’t disclose that role publicly. Diana Bratlie’s claim to fame is her discovery last election cycle that a volunteer for Kline’s challenger had tried to get on a Kline email list without revealing his ties to Democrat Coleen Rowley’s campaign. She wrote that the man, David Bailey, used “false pretenses and deception to misrepresent himself.” Bratlie, who has showed up at several of Kline’s challenger’s events, has raked in more than $50,000 for work on Kline’s behalf.
