Hillary Clinton will reportedly headline the second night of the Democratic National Convention in Denver. CNN is citing sources close to Clinton who say the former candidate will speak the night of Aug. 26. It’s the same speaking role that launched Barack Obama into the national spotlight during the 2004 convention, and it is also the 88th anniversary of the date women attained the right to vote.
CNN erroneously reports that Aug. 26 is the 88th anniversary of "the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution." The 19th Amendment was actually ratified on Aug. 18, while Aug. 26 was the date Secretary of State Bainbridge Colby certified the ratification.
Historical details aside, Clinton will apparently be flanked by fellow female colleagues from the U.S. Senate. One can only assume that means Minnesota’s own Sen. Amy Klobuchar will have a brief moment in the primetime spotlight.

What does it say that she’ll be holding forth on a safe, pious topic that can keep her pro-war, pro-corporate soul essentially botoxed for an hour?
That, I guess, she isn’t going to be allowed to blow it for Obama.
