Religious Right Watch: Church shooting targeted liberals

Gunman shoots up church because of it’s liberal policies on women, LGBT community: Two were killed and seven wounded when Jim Adkisson opened fire in a Tennessee church on Sunday. Police reports indicate that the shooter "hated liberals" and police confiscated books such as Bill O’Reilly’s The O’Reilly Factor, Michael Savage’s Liberalism is a Mental Disorder and Sean Hannity’s Let Freedom Ring.
Peter LaBarbera of the Christian group Americans for Truth took the opportunity at the shooting to speak out against hate crimes legislation saying that it proves his case that hate crime laws are unnecessary. "Peter LaBarbera and his ilk are responsible for creating a climate where hate crimes can and do occur," Truth Wins Out founder and Executive Director Wayne Besen told PageOneQ. "LaBarbera is a despicable opportunist who barely waited for the police to lay down chalk and wrap tape around the crime scene before pushing his opposition to hate crimes legislation."
Fundamentalist Christian, Monica Goodling, accused of discriminatory hiring practices at Department of Justice: Monica Goodling discriminated against gays and lesbians — and other nonconservatives — in her role as the White House liaison to DOJ, a probe concluded Monday. She denied promotions to an appointee by former U.S. Attorney for Minnesota, Tom Heffelfinger, after Goodling heard the employee might be a lesbian.
Goodling cut her teeth in law at Regent University founded by televangelist Pat Robertson and at a small Christian college in Pennsylvania called Messiah College.
Kenneth Copeland makes too much money: The Associated Press dug deep into the televangelist ministry of Kenneth Copeland and found a great deal of nepotism in cash flow with family members making a healthy living off the church. Not mentioned: Twin Cities televangelist Mac Hammond who has benefited financially from his friendship with Copeland including the purchase of a private jet.
Evangelicals don’t like Mitt Romney for Vice President: The Rev. Rob McCoy told The Washington Times, "I will vote for McCain unless he does one thing. You know what that is? If he puts Romney on the ticket as veep. It will alienate the entire evangelical community – 62 million self-professing evangelicals in this country, half of them registered to vote, are going to be deeply saddened."
Several other evangelicals echoed McCoy’s concerns, including the notion that Mormons aren’t real Christians. Will those concerns put Minnesota’s evangelical Gov. Tim Pawlenty up in the rankings for VP?

Whether you agree with the investigated ministries or not, the Grassley “investigation” of the six has just spun a further dimension out of orbit –
Anyone else wondering about the status of those two ministries who provided all their records en toto? Mr. Grassley
