Wrong Larry: Idaho button has Obama paired with Republican toe-tapper

The idea wasn’t bad — Democrats Barry and Larry paired up on a three-inch button — but while the manufacturer of Democratic campaign gear got Barack Obama’s picture right, they flubbed the image of Idaho senatorial candidate Larry LaRocco… and showed outgoing Republican Sen. Larry Craig instead.

The buttons, now corrected, were made by a firm that produces political items for Democratic candidates and not by the LaRocco campaign. While LaRocco likely doesn’t want to be confused with the Republican senator arrested in the Minneapolis airport last year for lewd conduct, his communications director seems to have a sense of humor about the snafu.

"That sounds like it’s going to be a collector’s item," said Dean Ferguson. "I’m sure Sen. Obama appreciates Sen. Craig’s support."

So far, the buttons have not appeared on ebay.
