RE: Student1776

You are the best argument for leaving religion and politics out of social conversations.
Go ahead and shoot me one of your vile e-mail messages and I'll shoot right back at ya!
It's so sad that I have to do "your homework" to disprove the rumors that are spread around by so many.
However, I am one DSOAB that will do it every time.
Your Welcome.

Regarding healthcare for all, Michelle and others of her ilk should read what Jesus says:

Matthew 25: 31-46

This is the only reference Jesus makes to judgement day. Are you a Sheep or a Goat?

Think about this: you will vote in healthcare, and the the republicans will get elected. How's that for you?

I think it is hilarious that you say that they are de-humanizing their opponents, and then you proceed to brush them off as wackos, and as one poster here said, hoped she would slit her wrists.

To be honest, I wish both the Dems and Reps would shut up and leave me alone. We, the American people, can solve our problems. I don't need some dumb twit in the Whitehouse telling me what to do. And, yes, it is scary to have the ignoramus-in-chief speaking to our children. He is not their father (Dear Leader?), their teacher or their master. He should shut the hell up.

Also, you really should read your history before you call your selves progressives. The progressives advocated entry into WWI, eugenics and were extremely racist and passed segregation. Look it up. They also passed prohibition. Nice bunch of pricks, they.

If you are progressives, you are the very type of people I find repugnant bigots. So use the label carefully, or not at all, unless you really are racist warmongers with a moralistic stick up your butts. You aren't though, are you?

And before you all go ape on me, I am not a Republican. I am so sick of people saying that. I think both parties suck, and are full of know-nothing arrogant a-holes. The republicans want a strong government abroad to abuse and harass people, and the Democrats want it here.

Lastly, to the Jesus Freak, Jesus never advocated stealing. If you are simply stealing from people to provide care for the poor, you are still just a thief. If you want to provide health care to the poor, go f-ing do it. Stop forcing others to do what you know is your responsibility and then saying it is what Jesus would do. Jesus never started a government program, or even advocated one. HE healed them, HE cared for them. You want to tax someone else, walk away listening to your Ipod and pat your self on the back for your goodness. You can get a full health care reform through government and you will have personally done nothing good for anyone. You blogged. Ooooohhh the compassion. And what did you blog about: how you hate other people who aren't like you. They have religion. They live in other states. They live in the country so they must be stupid.

Hey, after all, call yourselves progressives. The label does indeed fit.

Given the extreme secular nature of the Democratic party and their virulent anti-Christian bigotry (evident in many of the comments above), it seems sort of absurd for Democrats to be upset that Christian conservatives think they have God on their side because they are striving to follow his word. I don't know if there is a God or not but it seems to me that if there is a God then that God actually is more likely to be on the side of whomever believes in and worships him than in those who deny his existence and revile God. If the seculars actually believe in their secular atheist philosophy then they should have the stones to stand by it, to concede God to the believers and to stake their position in this world. If they are wrong then they burn in Hell. If the secular progressives are right they have at least lived with integrity. If there are any Christians out there who have still managed to remain Democrats (in view of the anti-Christian sentiments that dominate the Democratic party) then they can legitimately dispute the claims of Christian conservatives but have to argue the point on religious grounds and if they have any integrity have to express their disagreement with the atheist secular progressives. In any case, this whining and complaining by secular progressives that the religious people feel they have God on their side is just absurd.

Bachmann is an idiot and a psychotic, and seriously needs to be locked up for the good of everyone who she might come in contact with. She's not just a liar and a dimbulb. She has a recognized and documented mental disorder.

People with mental diseases are not even allowed to vote, much less hold office. She needs to be remanded to inpatient psychiatric evaluation and care.

And after her jaw-dropping demonstrations of her insanity, anyone who still supports her -- including all those conservatoad lip-flappers actually encouraging this nut -- also needs to be taken away by the nice men in white coats.

People who claim to hear voices including those that say it is God are put in straight jackets.

Bachmann is certifiably crazy and in a just world, would be put in a mental ward.

I am not from Minnesota, but I generally think of it as being a relatively educated and progressive state. Did you folks herd up all of the tinfoil hat crowd and force them to live in a assylum that is called the 6th Congressional District?

How does someone who advocates a return to McCarthyism stay in office?

The Republic Party has been dirty tricking America and the Democrats since R. Milhouse Nixon's time. It was in his administration that the dicks like Grover Norquist got their starts, with the full cooperation and approval of the leaders in the party and the occupants of every Republic administration since.

R. Reagan was no slouch when it came to lying, dirty tricks, and the like. He lied about selling weapons to the Contras, he lied about his record as governor of California, and he broke his campaign promises to the fundamentalist yahoos in both the right and especially the South as soon as he was elected. He hired on as his flacks some of the sleaziest of the PR shills in the Republic play list from lobbyists from K street to the nation's conservative "think tanks ". And it was in his administration that the neocons got their noses bloodied but didn't learn their lessons; they had blind faith in their warped ideas of how to "nation build," and an uncritical belief that they had the answer for putting "America First" in the world - by any means necessary. It was they who, paradoxically, labeled government as the problem, and wanted to shrink government to leave only the military and as few federal regulations as they could get away with - and all without taxes for the rich, but with the middle class footing the bill.

The eight years of this last rotten administration saw the fruits of their "red baiting," name calling, lying, slandering behavior, and their egging on of the loons, wingnuts, racists and plain batshit crazies on the far right and in the fundamentalist christian churches. These evil people targeted gays, the liberals, the Democratic party, abortion, labor unions -and anyone who didn't agree with them became fair game for incessant attacks from a media controlled largely by the right: the few consolidated media giants which formed as the direct result of deregulation supported and enacted by largely Republic administrations, but especially the last.

Where are the voices of the so-called "conservatives" when our President is under such slanderous lies and violence-encouraging attacks from the people in their own churches and party?

In all its opposition to Bush, the fringes on the far left never called for his assassination, never called the flag hated, never called for secession from the nation, never denied his citizenship, as has been the calls from the far right fringe. The current political climate is the direct result of the Republic Party's goading of these race baiters, name callers, tinfoil hat ranters. Not since the Civil War has political discourse been so reduced to shouting matches designed solely to disrupt and deny freely exchanged ideas. And not since the time of the robber barons, the captains of America's businesses, have the corporations had such an influence over the country, its laws, and its citizens welfare. And it all has been accomplished by the largely elitist, White Republic Party.

United States government has been provding public health services since its inception. In 1776, the Continental Congress passed a penion law for soldiers that "granted half pay for life in cases of loss of limb or other serious disability." In 1789 when the Constitution was ratified, the first pension act was passed by the U.S. Congress which affirmed the 1776 law. The U.S. Congress passed an act in 1798 to provide care for sick and injured merchant seamenby setting up a network of hospitals. After the war of 1812, in 1818 the Service Pension Law was passed, awarding pensions on the basis of financial need.

Bachmann has been so miseducated with propaganda and so inculcated with fear, that not only is she ignorant of our great history of taking care of our own, she is terrified by the very idea of what America is. Unfortunately, as a Senator she has the power to our country great harm with her unpatriotic fearmongering and total ignorance of history.

Reforming health insurance so people get the protection they pay for and providing a public option in the market to help foster competition are commonsense.

The Senator is high strung by nature. I hope she doesn't injure herself of anyone else.
