Holbrooke: Think Afghan democracy is flimsy? You should see Minnesota’s!

Repurpose the trade missions, Gov. Pawlenty. Pack your old USO suitcase, Sen. Franken. Minnesota needs its most experienced road warriors for an emergency PR mission to the rest of the world: Neutralize Richard Holbrooke! The U.S. Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan has been going around Paris today dissing the Gopher State’s best efforts at democracy in favor of Afghanistan’s:

We recently had a senatorial election in Minnesota which took seven months to determine the outcome, there were so many charges of irregularities. It certainly won’t take that long in Afghanistan, but that happens in democracies, even when they are not in the middle of a war.
