Bachmann: Dems deride me because they don’t want me to be president

“You must feel you’re doing something right,” radio host Mike Gallagher told Rep. Michele Bachmann yesterday, because she’s so ridiculed by lefties. The 6th district representative responded that she sees it as a “badge of honor” that she tops Nancy Pelosi’s list of Republican targets next election. Instead of acknowledging how her over-heated rhetoric might factor into such criticisms, she says it’s a woman thing:
“Also with women politicians, they want to make sure no women, no woman becomes president before a Democrat woman, and so they’re doing everything they can to, I think, sabotage women like Sarah Palin, perhaps women like myself, or similarly situated women, to make sure that we don’t have a prominent national voice.”
Bachmann’s been all over the place on her future plans. In March, she said she wouldn’t run for president. Two weeks ago she said she’d consider it if she felt “that’s what the Lord was calling me to do.” (Of course, such a calling is what got her involved in national politics in the first place.)
The Daily Beasts — in a piece that asks, “Will Bachmann ever pay a political price for her fevered outbursts? In today’s GOP, is there such a thing as too crazy?” — considers the issue briefly, but comes to no conclusion about Bachmann’s presidential prospects. Instead, it concludes with a quote from Norm Orenstein, Minnesota native and resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, who circles back to Bachmann’s headline-grabbing utterances:
“I do believe you’re dealing with someone who’s got an enormous ego that keeps getting fed,” said Ornstein. “I doubt very much that anybody who is either close to her or has some power over her has said, ‘Are you nuts?’”

MB needs no help from lefties, democrats or for that matter moderate republicans (both of them) to come off as an out of touch airhead. Her public statements go beyond what satirical comedy writers could come up with. Truly breathtaking in scope and rhetorical drama. Why it’s as if she is hearing voices…and acting out a burlesque version of third grade sunday school.

It boggles my mind that Michelle Bachmann actually thinks that she could someday be President of the United States. There are so many more talented, gifted, and sane women out there on both sides of the aisle who would deserve it more.

Does this bat-shit looney nazi think she could really even be re-elected in her current position? She is an embarrassment to the whole state! She should not be introduced as the representative of Minnesota; she should be introduced as the Representative from the “6th district” of Minnesota

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers.
Most of the people in the 6th district are probably oblivious to any of the jewels of wisdom that fall out of her mouth.

I once lived in Minnesota and dearly love the state and its people, and for that reason I actually cringe and grow embarrassed each time Bachman utters her inanities and insanities. This woman is an embarrassment to the entire system of governance in this country, and for her to believe she might even be remotely qualified to be president serves only as a testimony to her delusional character.

You think she is a nut cake and laugh at the thought that she could run for President, well look at the last 8 years with Bobble Head Bush, that proves that the more one acts nutty increases their chance of getting elected as 68% of the US population is mentally restricted people. So get ready these people could elect her and make Russia proud:)

Until the left wing of America gets its act together and figures out how to demonstrate that people like her are unfit for office, and demonstrate this to the people who only know of her though the good things they hear about her at church, and the rest who aren’t paying attention yet still vote, we are stuck with her.
Based on how I would think sane, intelligent people react to her, I’m not sure it’s a bad thing, as long as there’s enough balance in the House.

This woman is dangerous. We ned to make sure that she is not allowed to spew her venom across America. If it takes legislation to do that, then so be it. I have no problem with the government telling her to shut up.
The right wing corporate media is a pawn of Michelle. And this needs to be one of our our highest priority items over the next 3 months. Shut down the right wing media.

Your party would not be so ill-advised as to nominate you, Mrs. Bachman. Maybe if you start your own party. Revive the “Know Nothing Party”? Maybe its time has come around again.

I agree with your first statement. But I happen to be in the 6th district and am painfully aware of her idiotic statements. And it’s bizarre to look around the grocery store or public park and realize that a majority of these people around me support her! It’s like living in a foreign country or something.
I know there’s a clamor to remove her from office. But on the other hand, she is ineffectual at getting anything meaningful passed. She is actually beneficial as a poster child for what is wrong with the Republican party. I agree with the statements about the attention feeding her ego. The longer she’s been in office, the more extreme she gets. Eventually, just like Joe McCarthy, she will finally go too far and get dumped. I think she is doing more good than harm. She should be effectively opposed but I wouldn’t make it a high priority.

Every American should dream of being president. But then reality checks kick in. Few attempt.
That’s what remains curious about presidential bids by Mrs. Palin or Mrs. Bachmann … neither is necessarily a slave to reality
