If you were at the GLBT event with intentions to dissuade people from the “gay lifestyle,” as you believe, then yes, you were an anti-gay protester.

Exactly. You can paint it up all you want, but you were protesting homosexuality.

And yet you quote Romans 1:18-23 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, which are among the most common Bible verses perverted to condemn homosexuality.

Right, you just happened to all be walking together and stumbled upon the Gay Pride parade carrying your signs and t-shirts.

But the fact that you’re at any of them isn’t a matter of coincidence. It’s a matter of targetting. Those are the places you picked over, let’s say, the Catholic church down the street, or the door-to-door neighborhood on the south side of town.

Perhaps you should put a little more effort into your planning before you go pimping Jesus around to people who obviously have learned to love themselves without fear of retribution.

Andy B: Thanks for the brief on the festival – I managed to attend one of the Superior events and was delighted that the cops managed to keep the event civil by giving the event participants a buffer zone from the protesters. There was a lot of concern by many of my friends because there was a great deal of anti-GLBT/anti-festival Op-Eds in the Duluth paper leading up to the event. Some simply chose to keep their distance under the fear of violence.

Doesn’t our declaration of independence state at the very begining that all men are created equal? So when will we actualy start to follow our own constitution and allow marriage to all people? So if people are against GLBT marriages would they then be against America? We better get Michelle Bachman to ivestigate these protestors to see if they are pro America or anti America. Congrats on a great festival!! Keep up the good work =).

I find it interesting that this news site did not interview us nor report on ALL the facts of the story.
We do not target this homosexual event, we are at all different kinds of events in Duluth with gospel signs and banners, from the college campus, to the downtown bus stop, to the Air show etc…

For a community that prides itself on “Tolerance” I certainly did not see a lot of “Tolerance” that day!

Senator Marty was the only DFL Candidate for Governor with a booth at Duluth Pride Fest. He’s long been a champion of LGBT Issues. He was recognized as the Chief Author of Senate File 120, the Minnesota “Marriage and Family Protection Act” – which will provide equal marriage rights to same-sex couples. It was a beautiful day in Duluth spent with wonderful, loving people. The few protesters that were there only managed to make themselves look ignorant, intolerant and out of touch. It’s time for Marriage Equality in MN, and it’s time for John Marty for Governor!
