Kline and Rowley debate on Kline’s preferred medium… Public Access

John Kline and Coleen Rowley met for a debate today on “Access to Democracy,” a Burnsville/Eagan public access show hosted by Alan Miller.
more insideAlthough I do not mean to slight Mr. Miller’s production, which I hear is quite good (no sarcasm), I am fairly certain that it doesn’t have quite the same reach as the League of Women Voters forum (which has become somewhat of a staple debate venue) that Representative Kline ducked out of late last month. Good thing he cleared that up in tonight’s debate:
Rowley has accused Kline of ducking debates, including a League of Women Voters forum, which Kline says he’s too busy to attend.
At any rate, MPR has some coverage of the event up along with a complete audio presentation of the debate (which is in RealPlayer format; come on MPR get with the times). The run-down MPR gives is worth reading though. Especially the parts where Rowley calls for an independent consul to investigate the Foley scandal and Kline insists that’s not necessary (he opts for a congressional committee and the DoJ) and the part where Kline tries to use GOP talking points to rationalize his blind allegiance to the Bush Admin’s war in Iraq.
So, check MPR out for the coverage, take a listen, and if you missed this one live (how could you!?) they’ll be having another debate on the more prominent venue that is TPT before the election. That is if Kline doesn’t duck out of it, which isn’t altogether that unlikely…
