Democrats in Congress are readying a formal rebuke, but U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann tells Newsmax TV that “Joe Wilson spoke truth on the floor of the U.S. House.”
Bachmann elaborates on her take on President Obama’s health-care address to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday in the nine-minute video below.
Her view? “People can buy their own health insurance if the federal government will get out of the way.”

Please can we just say she is from the 6th District but not say Minnesota? God what an embarrassment.

Might as well censor her too as long as we are doing the paperwork on Wilson.

I encourage the Congresswoman to find health insurance on her own, without government interference (or paying for it in her case).
I’m sure she will be able to find a very affordable alternative for her and her family.
When I checked, an alternative for my family was $17,000 with a $5000 deductible. I am sure that will be acceptable to her.

Shorter Bachmann: Heath care crisis? What health care crisis?

Well, yeah. Wilson was wrong to shout during Obama’s address; Obama was wrong to try to mislead Congress and the American people. Which was worse? Wilson’s rudeness was over in a moment; Obama’s attempted deceptions continue.

“Obama’s attempted deceptions”? Are you insane or delusional or what?
Comment posted September 12, 2009 @ 10:23 am
What’s worse? People like Joe Wilson who lie by accusing others of being liars. I love the right wing: make empty claims about “attempted deceptions” and “Obama was wrong to try to mislead Congress.” Never show how this is happening and then go on to the next lie of accusing other people of being liars and trying to mislead people. Bachmann claimed at her fake “town hall” that people would not be able to keep their insurance policies and she actually stated that you could find it at “p. 19″ of HR 3200. That could be checked and I did. She lied. It says just the opposite. After running the country into the ground for the past fifteen years, the right wing and the Republican party no longer have any credibility and certainly no standing to reclaim any governance of the country. As bad as the Democratic party is and it is bad, the right wing and the Republican Party, exemplified by cretins like Bachmann and Wilson, are far worse.

Joel: “Well, yeah. Wilson was wrong to shout during Obama’s address; Obama was wrong to try to mislead Congress and the American people.”
A President misleading Congress … sing that tune to the 4,261 dead Service personnel in Iraq
As a conservative my lasting impression of Rep Bachmann comes from a constituent lobby trip to DC as part of a group of hunters and anglers. Out of the entire MN Congressional Delegation Rep Bachmann was the ONE person who couldn’t be bothered to meet with us instead she sent an aide who informed us he was from ‘Westchester, NY’ (no kidding) and had never even been to Minnesota.
My day job is in healthcare (oncology specifically) I deal with end of life and insurance issues constantly and have done so for 15+ years. The Congresswoman’s comments about individuals purchasing insurance if government would get out of the way are moronic. The inflationary rate of health insurance cost increases have NOTHING to do with government but are more closely tied to practices like that witnessed in 2006 when United Health paid McGuire $1.1 billion in a golden parachute to go away after coming under investigation for suspicion of committing multiple felonies. It was the largest golden parachute paid out in US history and happened right here in good ole Minnesota. No wonder the good Congresswoman is busy making more ’stuff’ up to help cover the trail(s) of the biggest lobby group in DC.

I have a web site – DumbLies.com – I think I just found a new Queen of the Liars – Truly a person must have a mental illness or be paid allot to tell the American Public this kind of lie with a straight face.
How much did she get in contributions from health care? – $180,000 – it is disgusting how little our elected officials will sell their souls for – Wonder what her final judgment will be for twisting the words of Christ into hate, judgment, power, perhaps you need to reread the whole second half of the bible.

I’ll take Ms Bachmann seriously on this issue as soon as she gives up her own government health insurance. As long as she’s hanging on to that, she’s not just a wingnut, she’s a hypocrite as well.

Please don’t post videos that start themselves. I have two of them going in my RSS reader right now, plus iTunes.
It doesn’t sound pretty.

Hey Frank, you don’t expect a straight answer out of Joel Rosenberg, do you? He has a schtick that pays him and he gets free Bachmann t-shirts; you know the ones where her picture is on it and it says they will “take my family to Obama’s Indoctrination Camps over my dead hands”…she has a lot of them now.
Joel knows where is bread is buttered.

Huh? I mean, the notion of somebody complaining about (fictional, in this case) “shticks” on MNIndy? It’s like complaints about pork and spam at the Hormel blog.
As to GWB, I don’t know of you know this: but he doesn’t work at the White House anymore. The guy who heads it up is somebody named Baruch O’bama, or something like that.

An assessment of the “truth” from someone who is regarded by people across the political spectrum as one of the most bizarre chronic liars in political history..

Bachmann’s husband runs a counseling clinic that appears to specialize in telling gay people they can become straight. This clinic, which Michele Bachmann calls her “family business,” employs many people and does not offer them any health insurance coverage. That tells you a lot about her.

This Lady is as dumb as a bag of hammers. It is astounding and frightening that she actually serves in the House. How long until Minnesotans throw her ass back to the trailer park she crawled out of?

I find this video disgusting firstly because it is a fake newscast. Newsmax is NOT a real news show, NOT a professional, neutral news source. It’s a propaganda machine. That was not a real interview. He was clearly reading off questions that she likely wrote for herself to answer. She was not challenged to back up her lies, cite her sources, or answer her own critics. He was not a real journalist or at least not following the ethical guideline of journalists. And if you go to Newmax website, you will see that one of the sponsors is “New Book Alert: How Liberals Are Destroying Religion and Culture in America”.
Secondly, her statements are full of lies meant to confuse and scare our elderly citizens who tune in, meant to scare people and get them to act out based on misinformation. There is no excuse for Representative Backmann either being deluded or purposely lying. She is acting highly partisan – and without integrity. Obama and the Democrats are NOT going to pass government take-over of health care. Death panels are an absolute lie. Most of the American people want the public option. Wilson was not just “disagreeing” with the President – he was insulting the President, Congress and the country by his behavior. You insist that tax-payers are going to pay for health care coverage for illegal aliens and that government is going to get between doctors and citizens? Then why are the majority of doctors in America happy with Medicare and in support of the public option? I hope your constituents melt YOUR phone with all their calls telling you to shape up or that they will ship YOU OUT next election season. That is the freedom that we need to exercise.

Ms Backmann, stop lies and tell the country the truth for once.supporting Wilson with his outbust!! .What truth did he say???. STOP TWISTTING WORDS. Please clean your mouth before you open it.

Having Mrs. Bachmann certify that Joe Wilson “told the truth” is rather like having the Mad Hatter of Alice in Wonderland fame certify your mental health as okay-dokey.

HR3200, Section 246 states “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.” This ain’t new, it’s been there for months.
Therefore, Joe Wilson did demonstrably lie.
If Michelle Bachmann says “Joe Wilson spoke the truth,” she is also demonstrably lying.
This isn’t a matter of ideology. It’s behaving like an adult.
