Rep. John Kline raised $241,000 in the second quarter of 2008. The three-term Republican Congressman now has nearly $650,000 banked to defend his seat . Democratic challenger Steve Sarvi’s campaign announced last week that he raised $145,000 in the second quarter and had $95,000 cash on hand at the end of June.
Financial reports are due to the Federal Elections Commission tomorrow. Data for Minnesota’s Congressional candidates continues to trickle in. Rep. Jim Oberstar, seeking his 18th term, raised $289,000 in the second quarter and has nearly $850,000 cash on hand to defend his post. The Eighth Congressional District Democrat has never received less than 59 percent of the vote in a general election and faces no credible opposition

Larry Weiss is correct. I completely screwed up. I was looking at numbers for a different campaign that has filed for the second quarter and somehow got it in my head that they were Ellison’s number. I’ve deleted the Ellison section and apologize for the error.

The numbers in this story for Rep Ellison are badly inaccurate. Since we have not yet reported to the FEC for quarter 2, I have no idea where you got those numbers. To all appearances they seem simply made up. In fact, in Q2 Keith raised just over $240,000 and cash on hand is $283,500. The report will be filed with the FEC tomorrow.
